聖宗長子，母曰欽哀皇蕭氏。 He was the eldest son of Emperor Shengzong; his mother was Empress Qin'ai, née Xiao.

壬午，尊母元妃蕭氏為皇太后。 On renwu day the new Emperor honored his mother, Lady Xiao, as Empress Dowager.

辛丑，皇太后賜駙馬蕭鉏不裏、蕭匹敵死，圍場都太師女直著骨裏、右祗候郎君詳穩蕭延留等七人皆棄市，籍其家，遷齊天皇后於上京。 On xinchou day the Empress Dowager ordered imperial son-in-law Xiao Cubu and Xiao Pide to death; Hunt-grounds grand preceptor Jurchen Zhuguli, Right Assistant Attendant langjun xiangwen Xiao Yanliu, and seven others were all executed in the marketplace; their households were confiscated; and Empress Qi Tian was moved to the Upper Capital.

秋七月丙午朔，皇太后率皇族大臨於太平殿。 On the bingwu new moon of the seventh autumn month the Empress Dowager led the imperial clan in great mourning at Taiping Hall.

庚戌，問安於皇太后。 On gengxu day the Emperor paid respects to the Empress Dowager.

辛亥，宋遣王隨、曹儀致祭，王鬷、許懷信、梅詢、張綸來慰兩宮，範諷、孫繼業賀即位，孔道輔、魏昭文賀皇太吊後冊禮。 On xinhai day Song sent Wang Sui and Cao Yi to perform sacrifices; Wang Ji, Xu Huaixin, Mei Xun, and Zhang Lun came to console the two palaces; Fan Feng and Sun Jiye congratulated on the accession; and Kong Daofu and Wei Zhaowen congratulated on the Empress Dowager's post-mourning investiture rites.

以右領軍衛上將軍耶律遜、少府監馬憚充皇太后謝宋使； Right Imperial Guard upper general Yelü Xun and Palace Manufactories supervisor Ma Dan were appointed envoys to thank Song on behalf of the Empress Dowager;
