恭惟懿德皇后久從升祔，雖先後有殊，在尊親則一，請同列太宗室，以先後次之。」 We reverently consider that Empress Yide has long been raised and enshrined; although there is a distinction of earlier and later, in honoring kin they are one. We request that she be placed together in Taizong’s chamber, ordered by earlier and later.”

國朝太祖之室，太宗稱孝弟，真宗稱孝子，大行稱孝孫。 In our dynasty, at Taizu's shrine Taizong was styled Filial Younger Brother, Zhenzong Filial Son, and the late emperor Filial Grandson.

而《禘袷圖》：太祖、太宗同居昭位，南向； Yet the Diagram of Di and Xia Sacrifices shows Taizu and Taizong sharing the zhao position, facing south;

若以太祖、太宗為一世，則大行祔廟，僖祖親盡，當遷夾室，祀三昭三穆，於先王典禮及近世之制，無不符合。」 If Taizu and Taizong count as one generation, when the late emperor is enshrined Xizu's affection is exhausted and he should move to a flanking chamber, sacrificing to three zhao and three mu—in full accord with ancient canonical ritual and recent practice."
