國朝太祖之室，太宗稱孝弟，真宗稱孝子，大行稱孝孫。 In our dynasty, at Taizu's shrine Taizong was styled Filial Younger Brother, Zhenzong Filial Son, and the late emperor Filial Grandson.

而《禘袷圖》：太祖、太宗同居昭位，南向； Yet the Diagram of Di and Xia Sacrifices shows Taizu and Taizong sharing the zhao position, facing south;

盧士宗、司馬光以為：「太祖已上之主，雖屬尊於太祖，親盡則遷。 Lu Shizong and Sima Guang argued: "Lords above Taizu, though senior in rank, are moved when affection is exhausted.

若以太祖、太宗為一世，則大行祔廟，僖祖親盡，當遷夾室，祀三昭三穆，於先王典禮及近世之制，無不符合。」 If Taizu and Taizong count as one generation, when the late emperor is enshrined Xizu's affection is exhausted and he should move to a flanking chamber, sacrificing to three zhao and three mu—in full accord with ancient canonical ritual and recent practice."
