開成初，起居舍人李褒免，文宗謂李石曰：「褚遂良以諫議大夫兼起居郎，今諫議誰歟？ Early in Kaicheng, diary attendant Li Bao was dismissed; Wenzong asked Li Shi, "Chu Suiliang once combined remonstrance grandee with diary attendant—who holds that remonstrance post now?

石以馮定、孫簡、蕭俶、李讓夷對，帝曰：「讓夷可也。」 Shi named Feng Ding, Sun Jian, Xiao Chu, and Li Rangyi; the emperor said, "Rangyi will do."

既而李玨、楊嗣復以覃之薦，終帝世不得遷。 Afterward, because Zheng Tan had recommended him, Li Jue and Yang Sifu kept Rangyi from further promotion for the rest of Wenzong's reign.

文宗欲以樂工尉遲璋為王府率，拾遺竇洵直固爭，卒授光州長史。 Wenzong wanted the musician Yuchi Zhang as princely commandant; Remonstrance Official Dou Xunzhi protested until Zhang was sent to serve as Chief Clerk of Guang Prefecture.
