五月，車駕清暑上都，遣使來召曰：「叛者浸入山陵，久而不去，汝與和禮霍孫率眾往視之。」 In the fifth month the court retired to Shangdu for the summer. An envoy summoned Zhongliang: "Rebels have entered the imperial tombs and will not leave — take Holihosun and a force to investigate."

忠良引眾夜歸，敵殊不覺，和禮霍孫以為神，白其事於帝，賜黃金十兩。 Zhongliang led his men out by night without the enemy detecting them. Holihosun took it for a miracle, reported the exploit to the emperor, and Zhongliang received ten taels of gold.
