亨時年數歲，與母李氏在洛陽。 Heng was then only a few years old and stayed in Luoyang with his mother, Lady Li.

其母則魏司空李沖之女也，素有智謀，遂詐稱凍餒，請就食于滎陽。 His mother, a daughter of Wei's minister of works Li Chong, was shrewd by nature; she feigned hunger and cold and asked permission to go to Xingyang for food.

李氏陰托大豪李長壽，攜亨及孤侄八人，潛行草間，得至長安。 Lady Li secretly enlisted the great magnate Li Changshou, took Heng and eight orphaned nephews, and traveled by hidden paths until they reached Chang'an.
