吳夫人 Lady Wu.

孫破虜吳夫人，吳主權母也。 Lady Wu of General Sun Jian—she was the mother of Sun Quan, the Wu sovereign.

夫人謂親戚曰：「何愛一女以取禍乎？ Lady Wu told them, "Would you cling to one girl and court calamity for the whole clan?

〈《搜神記》曰：初，夫人孕而夢月入其懷，既而生策。〈The Soushen ji says that while carrying Sun Ce she dreamed the moon slipped into her breast—then bore Ce.

及權少年統業，夫人助治軍國，甚有補益。 When Sun Quan came to power while still young, Lady Wu helped him run army and state and proved a great asset.

夫人乃倚大井而謂策曰：「汝新造江南，其事未集，方當優賢禮士，舍過錄功。 Lady Wu leaned against the great well and told Sun Ce, "You have only just begun to build Jiangnan; the work is unfinished. Now is the time to honor the worthy, treat scholars with courtesy, pardon faults, and record merit.

夫人智略權譎，類皆如此。 Lady Wu's shrewd counsel was often of this sort.

《志林》曰：按會稽貢舉簿，建安十二年到十三年闕，無舉者，云府君遭憂，此則吳后以十二年薨也。 The Zhi lin notes that Kuaiji's recommendation register has no entries for Jian'an 12–13, citing the prefect's bereavement—evidence that Lady Wu died in Jian'an 12.

權母吳，為權聘以為妃，愛幸有寵。 Lady Wu betrothed her to Sun Quan as principal consort, and she basked in his favor.

尚卒，極為討虜將軍在吳，聘以為妃，使母養子登。 When Lu Shang died, Sun Quan—then General Who Punishes Captives at Wu—took her as consort and had Lady Wu raise his heir Sun Deng.
