其先曰托跋思恭，唐僖宗時，為夏、綏、銀、宥節度使，與李茂貞、李克用等破黃巢，複京師，賜姓李氏。 His forebear Tuoba Sigong served under Emperor Xizong of Tang as military commissioner of Xia, Sui, Yin, and You. Together with Li Maozhen, Li Keyong, and others he routed Huang Chao, restored the capital, and received the imperial surname Li.
