其時廉吏輩出，靈壽令陸隴其等擢隸憲府，吏治蒸蒸，稱極盛焉。 Honest officials flourished; Magistrate Lu Longqi of Lingshou and others were promoted to judicial posts, and local administration reached its zenith.

二十三年，上幸五台山，格爾古德迎駕，詢地方賢吏，以靈壽知縣陸隴其對。 In Kangxi 23 (1684), when the emperor visited Mount Wutai, Ge Ergu'e met the procession and, asked about capable local officials, named Lingshou magistrate Lu Longqi.

尋疏薦井陘道李基和、盧龍知縣衛立鼎與隴其廉能，下部擢用。 He soon recommended Jingxing circuit intendant Li Jihe, Lulong magistrate Wei Liding, and Longqi for integrity and ability, and the court promoted them.

獨劾嘉定知縣陸隴其不協於輿論，左都御史魏象樞疏言：「天顏劾隴其，稱其操守絕一塵，德有餘而才不足。 Only his impeachment of Jiading Magistrate Lu Longqi went against public opinion. Censor-in-Chief Wei Xiangshu wrote: "Tianyan impeached Longqi yet called his integrity spotless and his virtue ample though his talent was limited.

會詔舉清廉，象樞遂以隴其應，語具隴其傳。 When an edict called for nominations of honest officials, Xiangshu nominated Longqi; the full account is in Longqi's biography.

隴其之廉，天顏知之而不能容。 Tianyan knew Longqi was honest yet could not tolerate him.

幸賴聖祖仁明，隴其復起，鵬年致大用，伯行亦終獲全。 Fortunately the Sage Ancestor was benevolent and clear-sighted: Longqi was restored, Pengnian rose to high office, and Boxing ultimately survived unscathed.
