夏四月，南府宰相趙廷睦出知興中府事，參知政事牛溫舒兼同知樞密院事。 In the fourth summer month Southern Court chancellor Zhao Tingmu went out to administer Xingzhong Prefecture; associate administrator of affairs Niu Wenshu also associate administrator of Privy Council affairs.

甲午，以參知政事牛溫舒兼知中京留守事。 On jiawu day associate administrator of affairs Niu Wenshu also administered Central Capital regency.

丙寅，以南府宰相耶律斡特剌為北院樞密使，三知政事牛溫舒知南院樞密使事。 On bingyin day Southern Court chancellor Yelü Wotela was made Northern Court privy commissioner; third associate administrator of affairs Niu Wenshu administered Southern Court privy commissioner affairs.

六年春正月辛丑，遣知北院樞密使事蕭得里底、<四>知南院樞密使事牛溫舒使宋，諷歸所侵夏地。 In the sixth year, on xinchou day of the first spring month Xiao Delidi, who administered Northern Court privy commissioner affairs, and [4] Niu Wenshu, who administered Southern Court privy commissioner affairs, were sent as envoys to Song to admonish return of invaded Xia territory.

耶律合住劉景劉六符耶律甗履牛溫舒杜防蕭和尚 Yelu Hezhu, Liu Jing, Liu Liufu, Yelu Lü, Niu Wenshu, Du Fang, and Xiao Heshang

牛溫舒，范陽人。 Niu Wenshu came from Fanyang.

溫舒與蕭得裏底使宋。 Wenshu and Xiao Delidi were sent as envoys to Song.

溫舒遽起，以手藉土懷之。 Wenshu rose at once, scooped up earth in his hands, and pressed it to his chest.

宋主問其故，溫舒對曰：「臣奉天子威命來和，若不從，則當卷土收去。」 When the Song emperor asked why, Wenshu answered, "I have come with our emperor's mandate to make peace; if you refuse, I shall roll up this earth and carry it home."

牛、杜、頗的、合裏只輩銜命出使，幸不辱命。 Niu, Du, Pode, Helizhi, and men of their stamp went abroad on imperial commission and, fortunately, did not disgrace their missions.
