高祖東征孫恩，季高義樂隨。 When the Founding Emperor marched east against Sun En, Jigao gladly followed him out of loyalty.

高祖征孫恩，縣差為征民，充乙士，使伐馬芻。 When the Founding Emperor marched against Sun En, the county drafted him for the campaign as a second-class soldier and set him to cutting horse fodder.

隆安四年，高祖伐孫恩，鍾願從餘姚、浹口攻句章、海鹽、婁縣，皆摧堅陷陣，每有戰功。 In the fourth year of Long'an the Founding Emperor marched against Sun En; Zhong volunteered and fought at Juzhang, Haiyan, and Lou county from Yuyao and Jiakou, breaking through every strong position and winning merit in every engagement.

隆安中，從高祖征孫恩，戍句章城，被圍數十日，無日不戰，身被數創。 During Long'an he followed the Founding Emperor against Sun En, garrisoned Juzhang, and was besieged for several tens of days; he fought every day and suffered several wounds.

於蒲濤口與孫恩水戰，又被重創。 At Putao Ford he fought Sun En on the water and again suffered grave wounds.

追恩至鬱洲，又至石鹿頭，還海鹽大柱，頻戰有功。 He pursued En to Yuzhou and then to Shilutou, returned to Haiyan Dazhu, and won merit in repeated engagements.

高祖東征孫恩，屢至會稽，季恭曲意禮接，贍給甚厚。 When Gaozu campaigned east against Sun En and repeatedly passed through Kuaiji, Jigong treated him with elaborate courtesy and supported him very generously.

高祖後討孫恩，時桓玄篡形已著，欲於山陰建義討之。 On a later campaign against Sun En, Huan Xuan's usurpation was already obvious, and Gaozu planned to raise a righteous force at Shanyin to overthrow him.

及孫恩寇亂，殲亡事極，自此以至大明之季，年踰六紀，民戶繁育，將曩時一矣。 When Sun En's raids brought ruin to the extreme, from then until the Daming era more than six decades passed, and households multiplied until they nearly equaled former times.
