時帝頗怠於政治，后與皇太子愛猷識理達臘遽謀內禪，遣樸不花諭意丞相太平，太平不答。 At that time the emperor was rather slack in government; the empress and Crown Prince Ayushiridara hastily plotted an inner abdication and sent Po Buhua to convey their intent to Chancellor Taiping, who did not reply.

復召太平至宮，舉酒賜之，自申前請，太平依違而已，由是后與太子銜之。 They again summoned Taiping to the palace, raised wine and bestowed it on him, and personally renewed the former request; Taiping only hesitated and equivocated, and therefore the empress and the crown prince bore resentment against him.

至正十七年，用左丞相太平奏，授淮南行省照磨，未行，除國子助教，遷太常博士，轉國子博士，升監丞，擢翰林待制，兼國史院編修官。 In 1357, on the recommendation of Left Chancellor Taiping, he was appointed registrar of the Huainan Branch Secretariat. Before he took up the post he was appointed assistant instructor of the National University, then erudite of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices, then erudite of the National University, promoted to supervisor, and elevated to Hanlin attendant compiler and concurrently compiler of the National History Academy.
