睿宗景襄皇帝，諱拖雷，太祖第四子，太宗母弟也。 Ruizong, the Emperor Jingxiang, bore the personal name Tolui and was the fourth son of Taizu and uterine younger brother of Taizong.

方太祖崩時，太宗留霍博之地，國事無所屬，拖雷實身任之。 When Taizu died, Taizong was still in the Hobot region and no one held the reins of state; Tolui in fact shouldered the burden himself.

太宗大喜，語諸王大臣曰：「昔太祖嘗有誌此舉，今拖雷能言之，真賽因也。」 Taizong was delighted and told the princes and ministers, "Taizu once intended this very campaign; that Tolui can speak of it shows he is truly sayin."
