既而賊眾屯朱雀航南，右軍王道隆率宿衛向朱雀，聞賊已至，急信召勔。 Soon after the rebel host encamped south of the Zhuque floating bridge. Right army Wang Daolong led the palace guard toward Zhuque. Hearing the rebels had arrived, he urgently sent word summoning Mian.

勔至，命閉航，道隆不聽，催勔渡航進戰。 When Mian arrived he ordered the bridge closed. Daolong would not listen and pressed Mian to cross the bridge and advance to battle.
