十六年十月，三桂遣其從孫世琮殺延齡，擁雄鎮至賊壘，迫使降，雄鎮大呼曰：「吾義守封疆，不能寸斬汝以報國，死吾分也！」 In the tenth month of the sixteenth year Sangui sent his grandnephew Shizong to kill Yanling and dragged Xiongzhen to the rebel camp to force his surrender. Xiongzhen cried out, "It is my duty to guard this frontier. I cannot cut you down to serve the throne—death is what I owe!"

吳世琮既殺延齡，陷平樂，襲弘烈梧州，弘烈擊敗之。 After Wu Shizong killed Yanling and seized Pinglo, he attacked Honglie at Wuzhou, but Honglie drove him off.

世琮百計說之，罵益厲。 Shizong tried every argument to win him over, but Honglie only cursed him more fiercely.

十八年，吳世琮犯梧州，承業擊敗之。 In Kangxi 18 (1679) Wu Shicong attacked Wuzhou and Chengye defeated him.

世琮棄營宵遁，克潯州。 Shicong abandoned camp and fled by night; Chengye captured Xunzhou.

世琮以十萬人分屯貴州、廣西諸要隘，而自將兵圍南寧。 Shicong posted a hundred thousand men at key passes in Guizhou and Guangxi while he personally besieged Nanning.

承業赴援，設奇與城兵相犄角，戰新村西山之巔，斬六千餘級，世琮負重傷敗走，南寧圍解。 Chengye marched to relieve Nanning, coordinated a pincer with the garrison, and on West Mountain at Xincun killed more than six thousand. Shicong was badly wounded and fled; the siege was raised.

巡撫傅弘烈為三桂將吳世琮所敗，莽依圖引兵與相合。 Governor Fu Honglie was defeated by Wu Sangui's general Wu Shicong, and Manggitu marched to join forces with him.

世琮兵至，師复敗，還駐梧州。 When Shijiong's troops arrived the army was defeated again and fell back to Wuzhou.

世琮來追，擊卻之。 Shijiong pursued, but they counterattacked and drove him off.

顧八代策世琮且復至，益誡備。 Gu Badai expected Shijiong to return and urged the troops to prepare more carefully.

會除夕，世琮以三萬人奄至，又擊敗之。 On New Year's Eve Shijiong struck with thirty thousand men and was defeated once more.

十七年，師進次盤江，與世琮軍遇，莽依圖病甚，以軍事屬顧八代； In year 17 the army advanced to the Pan River and met Shijiong's force. Manggitu was gravely ill and entrusted command to Gu Badai;

偕副都統勒貝等渡江，與世琮戰，分兵出敵後，破其左而合擊其右。 With Vice Commander-in-chief Lebei and others he crossed the river and engaged Shijiong, sending detachments around the enemy rear while breaking their left flank and striking their right in concert.

世琮潰圍出，遣精騎追之，自殺。 Shijiong broke out of the encirclement, but elite cavalry pursued him and he took his own life.
