壬申，以吳國王蕭孝穆為南院樞密使，北府宰相蕭孝忠北院樞密使，封楚王，韓國王蕭惠北府宰相、同知元帥府事，韓八南院大王，耶律侯哂東京留守，北院樞密副使耶律仁先同知東京留守事，北面林牙蕭革北院樞密副使。 On renshen day Prince of Wu Xiao Xiaomu was appointed Southern Privy Commissioner; Northern Chancellor Xiao Xiaozhong was made Northern Privy Commissioner and enfeoffed as Prince of Chu; Prince of Han Xiao Hui was made Northern Chancellor and co-administrator of the marshal headquarters; Han Ba was made Southern Court great king; Yelü Houshen was appointed Eastern Capital regent; Northern Privy Vice Commissioner Yelü Renxian was made co-administrator of Eastern Capital regent affairs; and Northern Court linya Xiao Ge was appointed Northern Privy Vice Commissioner.

夏四月己酉，遣東京留守耶律侯哂、知黃龍府事耶律歐裏斯將兵攻蒲盧毛朵部。 On jiyou day of the fourth summer month Eastern Capital regent Yelü Houshen and Huanglong Prefecture intendant Yelü Oulisi were dispatched to lead troops against the Puluhu Modu tribe.

耶律侯哂，字禿寧，北院夷離堇蒲古只之後。 Yelu Houshen, courtesy name Tuting, was descended from Puguozhi, Commissioner of the Northern Chancellery.

侯哂初為西南巡邊官，以廉潔稱，累遷南京統軍使，尋為北院大王。 Houshen began as a southwestern frontier patrol officer and won a reputation for integrity. He rose to Commander-in-Chief of Nanjing and soon afterward was appointed King of the Northern Chancellery.

重熙十一年，党項部人多叛入西夏，侯哂受詔，巡西邊沿河要地，多建城堡以鎮之，徙東京留守。 In the eleventh year of Chongxi, as many Tangut tribesmen defected to Western Xia, Houshen was ordered to patrol strategic points along the western rivers, erect numerous fortresses to hold them, and was then transferred to Military Governor of the Eastern Capital.
