賊巢之亂，諸葛爽受其偽命河陽節度使。 During Huang Chao's rebellion, Zhuge Shuang accepted a bogus appointment from him as military governor of Heyang.

時僖宗在蜀，寇盜蜂起，簡據有六州，甲兵強盛，竊懷僭亂之志，且欲啟其封疆，乃舉兵攻河陽，爽棄城而走。 The emperor was then in Shu while rebels swarmed the land. Jian held six prefectures and a powerful army; nursing secret ambitions of rebellion and eager to enlarge his domain, he marched on Heyang, and Shuang abandoned the city and fled.

簡進攻其城，半年不下，河陽復爲諸葛爽所襲。 Jian besieged the city for half a year without success, while Heyang was seized again by Zhuge Shuang.

尋移軍復攻河陽，行及新鄕，爲爽軍逆擊，敗之。 He soon marched on Heyang again, but near Xinxiang, Shuang's troops met him head-on and routed him.

下河陽，走諸葛爽。 He captured Heyang and drove Zhuge Shuang from the field.

歲餘，為蔡賊秦宗權寇迫，不能守，乃棄郡歸項城，收合餘眾，依河陽諸葛爽，爽署為懷州刺史。 Zongquan drove him from Guang; he regrouped at Xiangcheng and Zhuge Shuang made him Huai commissioner.

光啟初，僖宗以爽為東南面招討，以擊宗權，爽乃表罕之為副，令將兵屯宋州。 At the beginning of Guangqi, Emperor Xizong appointed Zhuge Shuang commander of the campaign forces on the southeastern front against Qin Zongquan. Shuang then petitioned for Hanzhi to serve as his deputy and sent him with troops to garrison Song Prefecture.

中和四年，爽表罕之為河南尹、東都留守。 Zhonghe 4 Shuang made him Henan prefect and eastern capital regent.

明年冬，諸葛爽死，其將劉經推爽子仲方為帥，經懼罕之難製，自引兵鎮洛陽。 The next winter Zhuge Shuang died. His general Liu Jing acclaimed Shuang's son Zhongfang as commander, but, fearing Hanzhi could not be controlled, Liu Jing personally led troops to garrison Luoyang.

巢敗，依諸葛爽於河陽，累遷至裨校，屢有戰功，爽表為澤州刺史。 When Chao fell, Quanyi attached himself to Zhuge Shuang at Heyang, rose through the ranks to junior officer with repeated distinctions in battle, and Shuang recommended him as prefect of Zezhou.

光啟初，爽卒，其子仲方為留後。 Early in Guangqi, Shuang died and his son Zhongfang took over as acting governor.

初，蔡賊孫儒、諸葛爽爭據洛陽，迭相攻伐，七八年間，都城灰燼，滿目荊榛。 Earlier, the Cai rebel Sun Ru and Zhuge Shuang had fought over Luoyang for seven or eight years until the capital lay in ashes and brambles covered the land.
