升座元平維天眷我皇，四海昇平泰運昌。 歲首肇三陽，萬國朝正拜帝閶。 雲物奏嘉祥，乘鸞輅，建太常。 時和化日長，重九譯，盡梯航。 原於穆元後，敬授人時。 四始和令，三陽肇基。 鸞路蒼龍，載青其旂。 迎氣布德，百工允釐。 行慶施惠，及我烝黎。
Ascending the throne (Yuanping): Heaven blesses our emperor; peace reigns across the four seas and great fortune abounds. At the year's dawn the three yang arise; all nations come to offer New Year's homage at the imperial gate. Auspicious signs appear in the heavens; the emperor mounts the imperial carriage and displays the Grand Standard. Seasons harmonize and the days of transformation grow long; distant lands across the nine regions arrive by every route of land and sea. Original version: The august sovereign reverently grants humankind the calendar. The four beginnings accord with the ordinances, and the three yang establish the year's foundation. Along the imperial way the azure dragon goes, bearing green banners aloft. Welcoming the seasonal qi and spreading virtue, the hundred offices are duly ordered. Bestowing celebration and extending grace to all our people.

還宮和平聖人延俊英，鈞天樂奏繞彤廷。 華夷一統寧，士庶歡忻樂太平。 寶鼎御香盈，祥煙裊，瑞靄生。 簫韶喜九成，齊慶祝，萬千齡。 原有奕元會，天子穆穆。 鏘鏘群公，至自九服。 正朔所加，海外臣僕。 率土懷惠，萬民子育。 千齡億祀，永綏茀祿。
Returning to the palace (Heping): The sage gathers worthy talents; celestial music resounds throughout the vermilion hall. Chinese and foreign peoples are united in peace; scholars and commoners alike rejoice in an age of tranquility. Precious censers brim with imperial incense; auspicious smoke curls upward and propitious mist rises. The music of Xiaoshao celebrates its perfect ninefold form; all join in wishing ten thousand ages of blessing. Original version: Grand is the New Year's assembly; the Son of Heaven sits in solemn dignity. The assembled lords arrive in solemn procession from the nine domains. Wherever the imperial calendar extends, overseas peoples become subjects and servants. All within the realm cherish his grace; he nurtures the myriad people as his own children. For a thousand ages and ten thousand years, may abundant blessings endure forever.

升座遂平陽回黍谷春，萬國衣冠拜紫宸。 旭日耀龍鱗，雲物呈祥福祿臻。 堯階蓂莢新，熙庶績，撫五辰。 九服共來賓，調元化，轉鴻鈞。 原乾符在握，道轉鴻鈞。 天心見復，物始資元。 景長舜日，紀協堯春。 玉琯應瑞，寶曆肇新。 眾正在位，輔翼一人。
Ascending the throne (Suiping): Spring returns to the Millet Valley; envoys from all nations in court dress bow before the Purple Forbidden Hall. The rising sun gleams upon the dragon's scales; auspicious signs appear in the heavens and fortune and blessing arrive. On Yao's steps the mingling plant sprouts anew; he flourishes the myriad achievements and governs the five seasons. Envoys from the nine domains all come as guests; he harmonizes the primal transformation and turns the great cosmic balance. Original version: The mandate of Heaven is held firmly in hand; the Way turns the great cosmic balance. Heaven's heart reveals the return of yang; all things begin to receive the primal source. The days lengthen as in the age of Shun; the calendar accords with the spring of Yao. The jade pitch-pipe responds with auspicious signs; the precious calendar begins anew. The multitude of worthies take their places, assisting and supporting the sovereign.

還宮允平皇心克配天，玉琯葭灰得氣先。 彤廷臚唱宣，四海共球奏御筵。 珠斗應璣璿，金鏡朗，麟鳳騫。 人間景福全，咨屢省，懋乾乾。 原萬國在宥，一陽斯溥。 淵默臨朝，天職修舉。 君子道長，駢珪聯組。 瞻日書雲，產祥降嘏。 宜暘而暘，宜雨而雨。
Returning to the palace (Yunping): The emperor's heart matches Heaven; the jade pitch-pipe and reed ash receive the seasonal qi first. At the vermilion court the ceremonial announcement resounds; tribute from the four seas is presented at the imperial banquet. Pearl and Dipper respond to the jade stars; the golden mirror shines bright, and unicorn and phoenix soar aloft. Blessings for humankind are complete; he repeatedly examines himself and strives with unceasing diligence. Original version: The myriad states rest under his nurturing care; the one yang spreads broadly. Deep and silent he holds court; Heaven's duties are duly fulfilled. The way of the noble man grows ever longer; jade tablets and official ribbons fill the court in ranks. He observes the sun and inscribes the clouds; auspicious signs appear and blessings descend. When sunshine is needed, sunshine comes; when rain is needed, rain falls.

In Qianlong 24, upon the pacification of the Muslim regions, two additional martial victory celebration sections were composed for the Winter Solstice audience at the imperial hall, using Zhonghe Shaoyue with Huangzhong as the establishment mode and doubled Yize lower Yu as the primary mode.

升座遂平陽回玉琯春，華闕晴暉映紫宸。 聲教訖無垠，烽燧長清玉塞塵。 絕域盡王臣，安作息，荷陶甄。 奉贄獻靈珍。 超三古，懋經綸。
Ascending the throne (Suiping): Spring returns to the jade pitch-pipe; the splendid gate gleams in clear sunlight upon the Purple Forbidden Hall. Civilizing instruction reaches without limit; beacon fires stay extinguished and the jade frontier passes are free of war's dust. The farthest regions all become royal subjects; they live in peace, nurtured by imperial care. They present tribute and offer precious treasures. Surpassing the three antiquities, he vigorously governs the realm.

還宮允平淑氣轉瑤閶，緹幕葭飛啟百昌。 恩威亙八荒，雪嶺天山道里長。 納款鄉明堂，三足鳥，暨鳳凰。 乾珍普降祥，彌顧禔，敕幾康。
Returning to the palace (Yunping): Pure qi turns at the jade gate; reed ash flies in the crimson curtain, ushering in the hundred prosperities. Grace and majesty extend across the eight wilds; from Snow Ridge to Heaven Mountain the roads stretch far. They submit allegiance at the Bright Hall; the three-legged bird and the phoenix appear as omens. Heaven's treasures broadly send down auspicious signs; ever mindful of blessing, he commands diligence in governance.

慶平紫霧氤氳浮彩仗，丹階虎隊鵷行。 敷文德，虞徽接響。 靖邊徼，來享來王。
Qingping: Purple mist dense and floating over colored halberds; on the vermilion steps tiger guards and egret ranks stand in formation. Spreading civil virtue; the music of Yu echoes in succession. Pacifying the frontier passes; they come to pay homage and submit as vassals.

升座乾平祥雲扈紫冥，四海臣民祝聖齡。 淑氣轉階蓂，堯籙羲圖燦御屏。 嵩呼遍在廷，天呈瑞，地效靈。 南極拱台星，億萬載，頌康寧。 原二儀清寧，三辰順則。 維帝凝命，函冒區域。 仁恩廣覃，至於動植。 久道化成，隆功駿德。 聖人多壽，年世萬億。
Ascending the throne (Qianping): Auspicious clouds escort the purple heavens; subjects and people across the four seas bless the sage's years. Pure qi turns on the mingling steps; Yao's tally and Fuxi's chart gleam upon the imperial screen. Acclamations like those for Mount Song fill the court; Heaven displays auspicious signs and Earth manifests spiritual response. The South Pole arches toward the Terrace Star; for ten thousand myriad years they praise peace and tranquility. Original version: The two principles are clear and tranquil; the three luminaries follow their proper courses. The Emperor consolidates the mandate, enveloping the entire realm. Benevolent grace extends broadly, reaching even to all living and rooted things. Long has the Way transformed into culture; his achievements are lofty and his virtue eminent. The sage enjoys long life; may his years number ten thousand myriad.

還宮泰平皇躬福祿宜，永紹鴻圖丕丕基。 彤陛長仙芝，樂奏簫韶丹鳳儀。 南山獻壽卮，人心悅，天意隨。 為德遍群黎，歌樂愷，萬年斯。 原鑒觀惟德，丕命惟皇。 肇茲壽域，薄海要荒。 物性茂育，民俗樂康。 冠帶之國，望斗辨方。 曰惟萬年，同於昊蒼。
Returning to the palace (Taiping): Fortune and emolument befit the imperial person; may he forever continue the great design and vast foundation. Immortal fungus grows on the vermilion steps; Xiaoshao is played and the vermilion phoenix displays its grace. The Southern Mountain presents the cup of longevity; people's hearts rejoice and Heaven's intent accords. His virtue reaches all the people; songs and music are harmonious, for ten thousand years to come. Original version: Heaven observes only virtue; the great mandate belongs to the Emperor. Beginning this realm of longevity, reaching to the sea's edge and the farthest wilds. All things flourish in growth; folk customs are joyful and at peace. States of cap and girdle gaze at the Dipper to know their place. May it endure ten thousand years, equal to the vast azure Heaven.

Three sections for court congratulations on the three great festivals—Longevity, New Year's Day, and Winter Solstice—the same as for regular court audiences. 群臣行禮慶平鳳凰在藪，麒麟在郊坰。 不如國士充陛廷，野無遺賢宗有英。 夙夜在公，在公明明。 原皇覆萬宇，品物咸亨。 九賓在列，百譯輸誠。 濟濟卿士，式造在廷。 帝仁如天，帝明如日。 親賢任能，愛民育物。 禮備樂成，聲教四訖。
Assembled ministers perform rites (Qingping): The phoenix dwells in the marsh and the unicorn in the suburban wilds. Better still are worthy men filling the court steps; no talent is overlooked in the wilds, and the imperial house has outstanding men. Early and late in service to the lord; in service to the lord, bright and clear. Original version: The Emperor covers the myriad realms; all things flourish in prosperity. The nine guests stand in their ranks; envoys from a hundred lands convey their sincerity. Abundant are the ministers and scholars; they come to the court in solemn ceremony. The Emperor's benevolence is like Heaven; the Emperor's brilliance is like the sun. He draws close to the worthy and employs the capable; he loves the people and nurtures all things. Rites are complete and music is accomplished; civilizing instruction reaches the four quarters.

外籓行禮治平我清世德，作求若天行。 天盡所覆畀我清，萬方悅喜來享庭。 曰予一人，業業兢兢。 原天盡所覆，以畀我清。 我德配命，涵濡群生。 萬國蹈舞，來享來庭。 俁俁蹲蹲，視彼干戚。 天威式臨，其儀不忒。
Outer vassals perform rites (Zhiping): Our Qing dynasty's world virtue is sought as Heaven's own conduct. All that Heaven covers is bestowed upon our Qing; the myriad regions come in joy to pay homage at the court. Thus I, the One Man, am ever fearful and cautious. Original version: All that Heaven covers is bestowed upon our Qing. Our virtue matches the mandate, nourishing and sustaining all living beings. The myriad states dance in step; they come to pay homage at the court. Grand and stately they squat and rise, gazing upon the shields and battle-axes. Heaven's majesty is solemnly present; its rites are performed without error.

宮中行禮雝平關雎四教，家邦作孚先。 黃裳元吉地承天，六宮仁順化穆宣。 麟之趾兮，萬福之原。
Palace ceremony, Yongping: The four teachings of the Guanju, first establishing trust in family and state. The yellow lower garment is primordially auspicious; Earth receives Heaven; the six palaces spread gentle instruction through benevolence and compliance. The unicorn's hooves are the source of ten thousand blessings.

升座怡平皇心保泰和，海昇平樂事多。 瓊樹長新柯，冰泮春風漲玉河。 晴雲展細羅，擎堯酒，泛天波。 花舞鳥能歌，齊拜手，賦卷阿。
Ascending the throne, Yiping: The imperial heart preserves great peace and harmony; the seas are tranquil and joyful affairs abound. The jade tree puts forth new branches; ice melts and spring winds swell the jade river. Clear clouds spread like fine gauze; they raise Yao's wine and float upon Heaven's waves. Flowers dance and birds sing; all bow with joined hands and compose verses of Juan'a.

還宮昇平時雍頌帝堯，玉佩鏗鏘慶早朝。 紫禁瑞煙飄，春意凌寒上柳條。 和風禁苑饒，陳仙樂，奏簫韶。 三五正良宵，宮漏永，月輪高。
Returning to the palace, Shengping: In harmonious times they praise Emperor Yao; jade pendants ring in celebration of the early court. In the Forbidden City auspicious smoke drifts; spring's intent rises above the cold upon the willow branches. Harmonious winds abound in the imperial garden; immortal music is displayed and Xiaoshao is played. On the fifteenth, a fine night; the palace water clock runs long and the moon wheel rides high.

升座隆平赫矣天鑒，眷求惟聖。 保佑我清，既集有命。 假樂大君，天位以正。 蒞下有容，監於萬方。 念茲崇功，駿命孔常。
Ascending the throne, Longping: Bright is Heaven's observation; it seeks and favors only the sage. Protect and bless our Qing; the mandate has already been gathered. How joyous is the great lord; the heavenly position is thereby rectified. He descends with dignified bearing and oversees the myriad regions. Reflecting on these lofty achievements, the great mandate endures in constancy.

還宮顯平於昭四後，誕降世德。 亹亹我皇，克艱袞職。 治定功成，中和建極。 龍飛在天，鳳儀於廷。 式奏王夏，垂億萬齡。
Returning to the palace, Xianping: Bright are the four sovereigns; the world's virtue descends. Assiduous is our emperor; he overcomes difficulty in fulfilling the imperial duties. Governance is settled and achievements accomplished; through harmony the supreme standard is established. The dragon flies in Heaven; the phoenix displays its grace in the court. Thus is played the Royal Summer, extending for ten thousand myriad years.

升座隆平敷天協氣鮮新，又蒼龍正晨。 萬國歡心仰紫宸，皇天錫嘏懿純。 陳充庭，華瑵金根。 扇春風，風兆人，澤如春。 睿周萬品，化洽無垠。
Ascending the throne, Longping: Heaven spreads harmonizing qi, fresh and new; again the azure dragon marks the morning hour. The myriad states rejoice in heart, looking up to the Purple Forbidden Hall; Imperial Heaven bestows pure and fine blessing. They are arrayed filling the court with ornate tassels and golden axles. Fanning the spring wind; the wind foretells the people; grace falls like spring. Sagely encompassing the myriad things, transformation harmonizes without limit.

還宮顯平淵然至道游神，協天行地文。 照騰華若早輪，清明廣大和誾。 恩滂洋，葭葦霑仁。 念民生，生此辰，酌於民。 瑞惟大有，寶則賢臣。
Returning to the palace, Xianping: Profound is the supreme Way as the spirit roams; Heaven's conduct and Earth's pattern are harmonized. Illumination rises splendid as the early wheel; clear and bright, vast and harmonious, gentle and kind. Grace pours abundantly; reeds and rushes are moistened with benevolence. Mindful of the people's livelihood; born in this hour, he measures all things for the people. Auspicious signs appear only in great abundance; the treasure is the worthy ministers.

Two sections for the second month use Zhonghe Shaoyue, with Jiazhong qing Shang as the establishment mode and doubled Yingzhong bian mode as the two primary modes.

升座隆平所無逸，恭己岩廊，萬協嘉祥。 吹律圜鍾諧舜琯，負扆當陽。 柳風初轉芽黃，翠甸輕雷蘇百昌。 發生心，皇奉若； 寬大詔，播天常。
Ascending the throne, Longping: In the place of no idleness he reverently attends to affairs in the rock gallery; the myriad harmonize in auspicious signs. Blowing the pitch-pipe, the round bell harmonizes with Shun's tube; he leans on the screen facing the sun. Willow wind first turns and buds turn yellow; on the green plain light thunder awakens the hundred prosperities. With a heart of generating life, the Emperor follows accordingly; broad and generous edicts spread Heaven's constants.

還宮顯平肅群後，鳴佩鏘鏘，拜手仰龍光。 初日曈曨奎壁麗，明庶風翔。 普天和氣休穰，浹化鷹成鳩眼良。 躬清明，基宥密； 恩溥洽，達要荒。
Returning to the palace, Xianping: Solemn are the assembled lords; ringing pendants resound as they bow with joined hands and look up to the dragon's radiance. The first sun rises dim and hazy; Kui and Bi are splendid and the bright multitude wind soars. Throughout Heaven harmonious qi rests in abundance; permeating transformation, the hawk becomes the dove with gentle eyes. Personally clear and bright, with foundation in deep care; grace broadly harmonizes, reaching the farthest wilds.

Two sections for the third month use Zhonghe Shaoyue, with Guxian jue as the establishment mode and Huangzhong mode as the primary mode.

升座隆平日麗風和遍寰區，新榆改火。 龍旂荏苒晃鸞坡，赫如曦，皇升座。 群辟奏瑤珂，拂花茵，垂佩多。 天門蕩蕩無偏頗，純嘏詠卷阿。
Ascending the throne, Longping: Sun beautiful and wind harmonious throughout the realm; new elm and changing fire. Dragon banners gradually sway on the phoenix slope; brilliant as dawn, the Emperor ascends the throne. The assembled lords play jade pendants; brushing flower mats, many pendants hang down. Heaven's gate is vast without partiality; pure blessing is sung in Juan'a.

還宮顯平瑞靄祥飆映彤墀，紅雲繚繞。 一人淵默德光昭，百花中，千門曉。 銅鶴篆煙飄，奏仙音，駕退朝。 促耕布穀飛靈沼，盈耳說農勞。
Returning to the palace, Xianping: Auspicious mist and propitious gale reflect on the vermilion steps; red clouds coil around. The One Man is deep and silent, virtue's light shining; among the hundred flowers, a thousand gates greet the dawn. Bronze cranes stand as seal-script smoke drifts; immortal music plays as the carriage withdraws from court. Urging plowing, the cuckoo flies over the spirit marsh; the ears are filled with talk of farming toil.

四月二章中和韶樂，仲呂清角立宮，大呂清宮主調。
Two sections for the fourth month use Zhonghe Shaoyue, with Zhonglu qing jue as the establishment mode and Dalu qing mode as the primary mode.

升座隆平玉宸旦婺中，天王御法宮。 乘硃路，曳長虹。 六六泠簫諧女鳳，萬物被薰風。 阜財解慍，福祿來同。
Ascending the throne, Longping: At the jade hall's dawn, Wu is in mid-heaven; the Heavenly King presides at the Dharma Palace. Riding the vermilion road, trailing the long rainbow. Six-six cold flutes harmonize with the female phoenix; the myriad things receive the balmy wind. Wealth increases and resentment is dispelled; fortune and emolument come together.

還宮顯平麥秋滿野登，桑穠繭已成。 玉衡正，泰階平。 上下交孚寰海靖，婦子樂盈寧。 罄天亙地，茂豫桐生。
Returning to the palace, Xianping: Wheat in autumn fills the fields for harvest; mulberries are thick and cocoons are formed. The jade balance is correct; the Grand Steps are level. Above and below mutually trust; the realm and seas are tranquil; wives and children rejoice in full peace. Exhausting Heaven and spanning Earth; flourishing ease, the paulownia grows.

升座隆平玉衡紀正陽，昇平景運昌。 豐功著，威稜揚。 險辟蠶叢歸指掌，決勝廟謨長。 凱聲競奏，喜起賡颺。
Ascending the throne, Longping: The jade balance marks the proper yang; rising peace and splendid fortune flourish. Abundant achievements are displayed; majestic power is raised. Perilous paths of Cancon return to the palm; victory is decided and the temple strategy endures long. Triumph songs compete in performance; joy rises and continues in succession.

還宮顯平功成愷澤滂，兵消喜氣揚。 櫜弓矢，掃欃槍。 紫閣酬庸膺懋賞，虎拜沐恩光。 萬年受祜，慶衍無疆。
Returning to the palace, Xianping: Achievements accomplished, harmonious grace pours abundantly; weapons are stilled and joyous qi rises. Sheathing bows and arrows; sweeping away the comet. At the Purple Pavilion merit is rewarded with grand awards; they bow like tigers, bathed in gracious light. For ten thousand years receiving blessing; celebration extends without limit.

慶平遠播皇威鯨鯢掃，瘴雨蠻煙盡消。 看振旅，歡聲載道。 瞻天處，樂奏簫韶。
Qingping: The imperial majesty spreads far; whales and crocodiles are swept away; miasmic rain and barbarian smoke are all dispelled. Behold the returning army; joyous voices fill the roads. Gazing toward Heaven's place, music plays Xiaoshao.

五月二章中和韶樂，蕤賓變徵立宮，太簇商主調。

Green altar standing in southwest direction; sacrificial victims, grain vessels ascending, fragrant. Imperial heart reverent and respectful, Heaven's countenance solemn; yellow canopy performing rites, sincere and devout, general. Rite complete, moving the imperial tread beside the heavenly field; soil rich and moist, harmonizing, spring abundant. Dark plow treading earth, ox wearing reins; Minister of Agriculture, heaven's granary seed filling green box. Great reins in hand, silk whip raised; first leading farming and harvest as people's advocate. Three pushes, one furrow, system has constancy; five pushes, nine pushes, numbers progressively detailed. Princes, dukes, ministers and prefects all assisting; field officers, thousand pairs arranged in wild-goose ranks. Hoeing and plowing already complete, grace spreading abundantly; from Heaven gathering blessing, much abundance and plenty. Coming wheat, buckwheat, dense purple awns; fragrant millet, red husk, indica stalks full. Black millet, white millet, three kinds, black, white, yellow; millet grain firm and good, large and fragrant. Gathering qi, great ears filling a foot long; five beans, five pulses filling the ridge-fields. Ji, zi, nine-colored grain; Shu sorghum, jade millet together with eastern wall millet. Crow and pheasant together harvested, removing tong liang; double ears, united tips pervading the governed borders. Thousand boxes, myriad measures collected in the divine granary; four seasons in order, hundred grains flourishing. Eight regions, nine possessions rich in storage; joy soaring, billions upon billions feeling the sage Emperor.
