Second month, jiazi: Yang Hua rose again and ravaged Ding, Li, and Tan. An edict offered bounty for ringleaders and pardoned the pressed. On bingyin, Liu Guangshi was told to camp ten thousand elite at Yangzhou and settle Huaidong. On gengwu, Li Gang became Guanwen academician and Huguang pacification commissioner. Yue Fei was further ordered, with Ma You, Li Hong, Han Jing, Wu Xi, and others, to crush Cao Cheng and the rest. On jiaxu, Personnel Minister Li Guang was made Huai west soothing commissioner, with Wang Fu as deputy. On yihai, hail fell. On bingzi, Shi Kui, Xie Xiang, and Lu Tang were judged Fan Ruwei's party; Kui was struck from the rolls and sent to Wuzhou registry control, Xiang and Tang were chained toward court, and all died on the road. On dingchou, the divisions of Cui Zeng, Li Peng, Shao Qing, Zhao Yanshou, Li Zhen, Shan Dezhong, and Xu Wen were split into seven commands as the Imperial Loyal Sharp Army under the Infantry Bureau, not to move without Privy Council order. Huainan garrison-farm rent was cut by two-thirds for three years, then restored. On jimao, Liu Guangshi was received; with the chief ministers he was told in the inner hall to advance to Yangzhou, but Guangshi never marched. On gengchen, surveillance commissioners were ordered to avoid their home circuits. On renwu, Cheng Changyu sent Du Zhan to levy troops against Zhou Lun and broke him. On jiashen, Teng Maoshi of the Works Ministry, who died loyal at Dai, was posthumously made Dragon Diagram direct academician. On bingxu, two compilation officers were first set to compile the Daily Calendar. On jichou, Jing-Hu east and west were restored to south and north routes; south sat at Tan, north still at E. Fujian was forbidden private arms and private forging. That month Dong Xian of Shang rebelled and went over to Liu Yu. The Jin took Qingyang, seized Yang Kesheng, and he bowed.

Third month, renchen new moon: Sang Zhong of Xiang-Deng was ordered to retake lost prefectures; all pacification commissioners were to aid one another. Xu Bingzhe was demoted again to Huizhou, Wu Kai to Nanxiong, Mo Chou to Shaozhou, all to reside. River bandit Zhai Jin struck Hanyang army and killed defender Zhao Linggui. Li Guang seized Han Shiqing at Xuan and brought him in. Li Dunren of Ganhuaxian and his band were all given rank and folded into the armies. On yimao, Jiangyin army was restored. Fujian military commissioners were abolished. On wuxu, Ye Mengde was dismissed. Li Guang became Jiangdong grand soothing commissioner and also pacification commissioner for Chuzhou, Haozhou, and four other prefectures. The Jiang-Huai transport office was abolished. Sang Zhong went to Ying to levy troops; defender Huo Ming thought him traitor, killed him, and reported up. On gengzi, the Jin hit Fangshan plain; Yang Zheng of Shaanxi reinforced and they drew off. On xinchou, they struck Long'an again; Wu Lin and others drove them off. Huainan garrison-farm deputy Wang Shi surveyed thirty thousand qing of idle land for the six armies to till. On bingwu, Secretariat inspection officers were restored, and Privy Council review officers. On jiyou, Yang Yizhong, middle controller of Shenwu Right, became Shenwu Central controller. On guichou, Henan pacification commissioner Zhai Xing was killed by his officer Yang Wei. On jiayin, the Jin came again from Shuiluo; Yang Zheng and others beat them again. On gengshen, Cao Cheng hit Qingshui stockade at He; Liu Quan abandoned the walls. That month Chen Bi of Shouchun and controller Chen Bao retook Shunchang, then withdrew; puppet Qi drove them off and Shouchun fell.

Fourth month, jiazi: Cao Cheng took He. Chen Yong besieged Xun and burned Longchuan; Jiangxi pacification was told to send officers after him. On bingyin, Zhang Jiucheng and two hundred fifty-nine Ministry of Rites graduates received jinshi and origin. On gengwu, Hanlin chief drafter Zhai Ruwen became Vice Grand Councilor. On renshen, Fujian's miscellaneous capital and lesser prisoners were pardoned. Jiangxi bandit Zhao Jin hit Ruichang; Yang Weizhong broke him and took surrender. On wuyin, puppet Qi commander Wang Zi came over with his troops. Li Bo, son of a Fushun supervisor, falsely claimed the Prince Xu and was summoned to court. On renwu, inner and outer attendants, surveillance commissioners, and defenders were each to name two or three exiled Central Plain scholars for service. On guiwei, an edict said: "We have raised two chancellors and lean on them alike. Those they recommend must not be played off in faction to harm the state." Sun Fu was posthumously titled Zhongding. On yiyou, Li Gang first took commission and set headquarters at Fuzhou. That night Lu De's Taiping garrison seized the city, imprisoned defender Zhang Kun, and killed Dangtu magistrate Zhong Dayou. On wuzi, Lü Yihao was made overall commander of Jiang, Huai, Jing, and Zhe. On gengyin, Liu Yu moved his seat to Bianjing. That month Wang Yan shattered Dong Xian at Maling pass and retook Shang.

Intercalary month, guisi: Goryeo sent tribute. On yimao, Chizhou magistrate Wang Jin struck Lu De and executed him. On bingchen, Yue Fei broke Cao Cheng at He. A transport office for the overall command was set up. On dingyou, Sun Jue, for corruption as Lin'an magistrate, was spared death, struck from the rolls, and sent to Xiangzhou registry control. Rear-garden construction was halted. On xinchou, Han Shiqing was executed for insolence. On bingwu, Yue Fei beat Cao Cheng at Guiling; Cheng fled to Lian; Zhang Xian pursued and broke him; he fled to Chen and into Shao. On dingwei, Fujian pacification was granted one hundred thousand strings in reward money. Zhu Shengfei was allowed to retire at will. On yimao, pacification commissioners were forbidden to march without court order. Liu Guangshi left office on his father's death but was specially ordered back to duty. On jiwei, the Bright Hall was ordered to worship only Heaven, with Taizong as associate. That month Zhang Jun had Li-Kui commissioner Wang Shu and Chengdu magistrate Wang Si exchange posts. Xiang-Deng deputy overall Li Heng and co-deputy Li Dao besieged Ying; Huo Ming fled.

Fifth month, xinyou: War Minister Quan Bangyan signed the Privy Council; Zhao Qi's troops became the eighth Loyal Sharp command. On guihai, Lü Yihao marched; Shenwu Rear and two Loyal Sharp commands followed; the hundred officials lined the send-off. On jiazi, Huo Ming was made acting Xiang-Deng-Sui-Ying pacification commissioner. Observation commissioners and above were each to name two men fit for command. On dingmao, the two-Zhe transport exchange treasury was abolished. On jisi, Yuyao and Shangyu lake-fields at Shaoxing were restored to lake to water civilian fields. On gengwu, construction of the Jiankang traveling palace was ordered. On xinwei, an imperial clansman's son, son of Zi, was raised in the palace. On bingzi, Lü Yihao reached Changzhou; vanguard Zhao Yanshou's men mutinied at Lücheng. On dingchou, Yanshou hit Jin tan and killed magistrate Hu Sizhong. Yihao claimed illness and would not advance. On wuyin, Haizhou bandit Wang Shan hit Lianshui; Su Fu and Liu Jing combined and beat him back. On gengchen, Lin'an burned. On guiwei, the Imperial Ordnance Office was established. On jiashen, the emperor reviewed prisoners in person; thereafter yearly. Acting posts at the mobile court were abolished. On yiyou, Liu Guangshi sent Wang De after Zhao Yanshou's mutineers to Jianping and executed them all. On bingxu, the Rehabilitation Bureau was set up under Qin Hui. Attendants, censorate and ministry men, surveillance commissioners, and magistrates were told to submit plans to save, enrich, strengthen, and ease. On dinghai, Secretariat inspector Qiu Yu became coastal commissioner. On wuzi, by hand-edict the Jianlong rotation was restored: one official a day would address the throne. Two-Zhe transport vice Xu Kangguo offered a gold-inlaid screen; the office was ordered to destroy it and strip him two ranks. Summer tax was remitted for Taiping families ravaged by bandits. That month Zhang Jun set staff adviser Liu Ziyu at Xingyuan, dismissed Wang Shu, and restored Wang Si at Chengdu. Han Shizhong reached Hong, sent Dong Min to induce Cao Cheng, and Cheng came to court.

Sixth month, gengyin new moon: Li Hong entered Tan, seized Ma You, and killed him. On jiawu, Li Gang marched three thousand out of Fuzhou. On wuxu, Meng Geng and Han Shizhong were ordered to withdraw. Yue Fei camped at Jiang. On gengzi, Liu Guangshi became Ningwu and Ningguo commissioner; Han Shizhong became Grand Marshal and shifted to Jiankang. On xinchou, Li Heng became Xiang-Ying pacification commissioner; Li Dao became Deng-Sui commissioner. On renyin, Zhai Ruwen was dismissed. Kong Yanzhou rebelled and went over to puppet Qi. On yisi, Quan Bangyan was additionally made acting Vice Grand Councilor. On wushen, Qiu Yu was additionally made Fujian coastal commissioner. On xinhai, censorate remonstrance officers were exempted from rotation audience. On jiayin, Lü Yihao was recalled; staff officer Fu Songqing was made acting head of the overall command. Two-Zhe, Jiang, and Huai defenders were ordered to shelter northeastern exiles. On yimao, Han Shizhong sent Jie Yuan and Ju Zhen into Tan, seized Li Hong, and brought him in.

Seventh month, xinyou: field tax was fully remitted for every Fujian family ravaged by troops. On renxu, the Hubei tea-and-salt commissioner was restored. On jiazi, the Fujian maritime-trade commissioner was abolished. On jisi, Zhai Cong was recalled as Henan and Meng-Ru-Tang pacification commissioner. On jiaxu, the Huaidong penal commissioner was abolished. On bingzi, Ma You's follower Hao Tong brought fifty thousand troops to the pacification office. On wuyin, Luzhou magistrate Wang Heng retook Anfeng and Shouchun. On jimao, Lü Yihao was received. On gengchen, Han Shizhong struck Liu Zhong, camped at Changle ford in Yue, broke him, and Zhong fled to Huai west. On dinghai, genealogies since Jianyan were ordered compiled.

Ninth month, wuwu new moon: Qin Hui was stripped of office. On jiwei, the Rehabilitation Bureau was abolished. On xinyou, a comet brought great amnesty; subjects were told to speak plainly on policy; Shaanxi rebel generals might renew themselves. On renxu, Wang Lun returned from the Jin as envoy and was received. Pan Zhiyao and others were sent to inquire before the Jin armies, bearing tea, medicine, gold, and silks for the two palaces. On jiazi, Guo Wei of Direct Huaiyuan Pavilion became Huai west patrol commissioner. On yichou, Zhu Shengfei was again Right Vice Director, Grand Councilor, and concurrent Privy Council director. Sikong Mountain bandit Li Tong surrendered and became overall command personal-army commander. On guiyou, Lü Yuan became eastern Zhe and Fujian coastal commissioner, seated at Dinghai. Zhu Fei of Jianchang struck Shipo bandit Yu Zhao, captured him, and executed him. On jiaxu, the comet vanished. On bingzi, Guo Zhongxun was again made Wutai military commissioner. Where ink edicts were improper, the Three Departments and Privy Council might report up, reviewers rebut, censors remonstrate, and offices review. On gengchen, the Fujian tea-and-salt commissioner was ordered also to head maritime trade. On xinsi, Han Shizhong became Jiangnan east and west pacification commissioner; other commanders styled pacification commissioner were dismissed. On renwu, five investigating censors including Ming Nang were sent through Jiang, Zhe, Hu, Guang, and Fujian with an edict on inspection, encouragement, punishment, and reward. On guiwei, the traveling palace's new south gate was completed. Monopoly commissioner Zhang Chunjun set Huai and Zhe salt law and raised the levy. Sichuan finance overall Zhao Kai first reformed Sichuan salt and fully monopolized it. On yiyou, Venus was seen by day. On bingxu, Wang Si of Xingyuan became Sichuan-Shaanxi pacification deputy commissioner. On dinghai, Ling Zhi, senior general of Right Gate Guard and Rongzhou defense commissioner, was enfeoffed Prince of Anding. That month Han Shizhong sent Jie Yuan to raid Liu Zhong at Qiyang and broke him. Zhong fled to Liu Yu.

Tenth month, wuzi new moon: a horse-pasture office was set at Raozhou. On gengyin, Li Bo was executed. On bingshen, circuit overall transport commissioners for Jiang, Zhe, Jing-Hu, southern Guang, and Fujian were first set. On jiachen, Pan Zhiyao reached Chu; vice prefect Liu Yan robbed his gifts and fled to Liu Yu; defender Chai Chun died fighting. On wushen, Zhao Ding of Pingjiang became Jiangdong grand soothing commissioner. On bingchen, Wen and Tai were forbidden to form societies. Weights and measures were sent to every circuit; private forging was forbidden. That month Yan Xiaogong induced Shipo remnant Li Bao and others to surrender.

Eleventh month, xinyou: Chen Yong took Wuping in Ting and raided Mei and Xun. On yichou, Ming salt-pan salt was first monopolized. On xinwei, comforting the army on the river was debated; attendants were summoned for pros and cons. On jiaxu, Li Gang, Liu Hongdao, Cheng Changyu, and Xie Qian were ordered to combine against lake bandit Yang Tai. On wuyin, Fan Ruwei remnant Fan Zhong plundered Longquan. On gengchen, the five announcing commissioners were told to burn tax registers remitted before Jianyan in every place they reached. On guiwei, Lin'an burned greatly. That month Guan Shigu beat puppet Qi at Mobang Mountain. Ma You's follower Bu Liang surrendered to Li Gang; Gang entered Tan; Hao Jing surrendered to Wang Jin; Wu Xi seized Wang Jun. Hunan bandits were all pacified.

Twelfth month, dinghai new moon: Shen Shijing of Shenwu Front and others were ordered after Fan Zhong. On jichou, Yi, who falsely claimed Princess Rongde, was executed. Fan Zhong raided Chu. Ju Shigu entered Luzhou, seized Wang Heng, and sent him to court. On jiawu, Li Gang was dismissed. Lin'an burned again. On bingchen, fire-ravaged families were relieved. The eastern Zhe coastal office was abolished. On dingyou, Yue Fei sent Xu Qing and Wang Gui to capture Pingxiang bandit Gao Ju. On jihai, Hu Shunzhi became Lu and Shou pacification commissioner. The Jin raided Xi and Qin; Guan Shigu beat them back. On gengzi, Li Yuan of the Ministry of Tally was sent to soothe Sichuan and Shaanxi. Zhang Zhongyan, Jiangxi deputy military controller, was executed at Tan for indulging violence and lawlessness. On xinchou, Cheng Changyu sent Du Zhan against Yang Qin, broke them, and killed more than three thousand. On guimao, the Sichuan-Shaanxi pacification office classified Shaanxi presented scholars; Zhou Mo and twelve others received jinshi origin by grant. On jiachen, Zhang Jun was dismissed as pacification commissioner but still directed the Privy Council. Lu Fayuan of Kuizhou became Sichuan-Shaanxi pacification deputy commissioner, sharing office with Wang Si. On jiyou, Zhou Suiheng of the Ministry of Rites was sent jointly to soothe Sichuan and Shaanxi. On gengxu, Meng Geng came from Jiankang to audience. On xinhai, the Jin hit Shang; defender Shao Long withdrew to Shangjin. Li Heng beat puppet Qi and retook Ru. On jiayin, Meng Geng was ordered jointly to command Jiang, Huai, Jing, and Zhe. The overall command was ordered to oversee garrison farms for Jiang east and west, Hubei, and western Zhe commanders. Zhang Jun by commission made Gui subordinate to Kuizhou circuit. That winter the Jin hit Heshang plain; troops starved and scattered; Wu Lin abandoned the stockade and withdrew. Gan bandit Xie Da raided Huizhou.

Shaoxing 3, spring, dingsi new moon: at Lin'an the emperor led the hundred officials in bowing from afar to the two emperors and took no New Year court. Jiangxi officer Li Zongliang induced the garrison to rebel and hit Yun; commander Zhao Jin drove them back. Zhai Cong entered the Western Capital and seized puppet Qi garrison commissioner Meng Bangxiong. Circuit penal commissioners were ordered also to head the Ever-Normal granary. On gengshen, the Jin hit Shangjin. Li Heng broke Yingshun army; puppet Qi commander Lan He surrendered. On renxu, the Jin hit Xunyang in Jin prefecture. Qiu Yu became coastal commissioner for Fujian, two Zhe, and Huaidong. On guihai, Chen Yong besieged Chaozhou, could not take it, and turned toward Jiangxi. On jiazi, Li Heng retook Yingchang. On yichou, criminal judges within and without were told to pursue humanity and fairness; the censorate would inspect; reversed cases were reported monthly; merit was assessed at year's end. The Jin took Jin; pacification commissioner Wang Yan burned stores and fell back to Xixiang. On gengwu, the mobile-court Imperial Clan office was abolished; Heir Apparent Prince of Pu Zhong Mi was told to judge Grand Clan Director affairs. On xinwei, thunder, lightning, and hail fell. An armillary sphere was constructed. Li Tong was killed by his follower Wang Quan. On renshen, the western outer Imperial Clan office was ordered to Fuzhou. On guiyou, sacrifice to the Great Fire star was restored. Tang Dongye became Huai east pacification commissioner. On yihai, Li Heng was made pacification commissioner of Xiangyang and Deng, Sui, and E. On dingchou, Fan Wen of the Deng-Lai mountain stockades came over by sea with his command. On gengchen, spring and autumn lookout sacrifices at the tombs were ordered. Zhang Jun argued Wang Si was unfit as deputy, begged dismissal on his own account, and received no answer. On guiwei, returnees were to have rent and corvée fixed by reclaimed acreage. On yiyou, Huai and Zhe silk-salt levies were cut.

Second month, dinghai new moon: Gui was raised to Jingjiang superior prefecture. On jichou, acting chief councilor Quan Bangyan died. Zhe east bandit Peng You struck Longquan. On xinmao, Li Tong's remnant Liu De besieged Shu. Wu Jie met the Jin at Raofeng Pass; Wang Yan joined from Xixiang; the Jin split to storm the pass; Guo Zhong was routed and fled. On dingyou, Raofeng Pass fell; Jie rushed to Xi; Yan fled to Da; Sichuan shook. Zhang Jun got his dismissal order, but with the armies collapsing he hid it and memorialized again for review. On jihai, Saliyehe entered Xingyuan; Liu Ziyu burned the city and fled to Sanquan; Wu Jie fell back to Xianren Pass. On gengzi, clansman Bozong became Defender of He and was named Yuan; soon he was shifted to Gui. On xinchou, tax on Guangdong households hit by bandits was remitted. On renyin, Niu Gao and Peng Qi of Zheng joined Li Heng; Heng on his own authority made Gao Cai-Tang pacification commissioner and Qi magistrate of Ru. On yisi, Zhai Cong sent Li Ji to beat puppet Qi at Yiyang and wipe out Liang Jin. On dingwei, Wang Si finally took the pacification deputy commission. On wushen, Gan bandit Zhou Shilong hit Xun, Mei, and Ting; Zhao Xiang and other controllers were told to unite and take him. On gengxu, Li Heng became Divine Martial Left deputy overall controller and Jing west recruitment commissioner. Hu Shunzhi was shifted to Huai west pacification commissioner. On xinhai, Works Minister Xi Yi became Vice Grand Councilor; Hanlin academician Xu Fu signed at the Privy Council. On renzi, Wang Quan attacked Lu. On jiayin, defenders were told that after six months they must submit five items on popular welfare or the frontier. Li Heng reported victory at Yingchang; he was allowed to act at discretion. On yimao, Liu Guangshi sent Li Qiong and others to Si to back Li Heng. That month, Zhang Jun again made Wang Shu planning officer and sent him to Ba. Jin troops had reached Jinniu post; fearing ambush, they withdrew through Baoxie Valley to Xingyuan; Wu Jie and Liu Ziyu pursued and took a heavy toll.

Third month, jiwei: Yue Fei was ordered against Gan bandits. On renxu, Ju Shigu was again told to camp ten thousand at Yangzhou. Hu Shunzhi reached Lu and Wang Quan surrendered. On jiazi, Zhao Ding became Jiangxi pacification grand commissioner. Li Heng proclaimed to the armies the recovery of the Eastern Capital. On jisi, the Jin sent troops to Liu Yu; Li Heng was routed and Yingchang fell again. On renwu, Han Shizhong became Huainan east-route pacification commissioner. Li Gang sent troops, took Li Zongliang's surrender, and court ordered him beheaded in the market.

Fourth month, dinghai: Zhu Shengfei left on his mother's mourning. Puppet Qi magistrate Dong Zhen and controller Dong Xian came over; Zhen was made acting Shang-Guo-Shan pacification commissioner. On jichou, Jiang east and west, Hubei, and Zhe west were told to recruit farmers for waste land and remit three years' rent. On xinmao, Liu Guangshi became acting Grand Mentor and Jiangnan east-route pacification commissioner. The Jin left Xingyuan. On renchen, the commander-in-chief's office was moved to Zhenjiang. Yue Fei halted at Gan. On jiawu, puppet Qi Tang magistrate Hu Anzhong came over. On bingshen, puppet Qi Li Cheng took Guo; Dong Xian and Niu Gao fled to Xiangyang. On jihai, Empress Zhaoci Xianlie was retitled Zhaoci Shengxian. Sacrifice to the Five Emperors, sun, and moon was restored. On gengzi, stipends for minor officials were raised. On xinchou, Jingnan controller Luo Guang marched to Ding. Yang Yao grew bold, called himself Great Sage Heavenly King, made Zhong Xiang's son Ziyi crown prince; Guang could not crush him and withdrew. On dingwei, Yue Fei sent Zhang Xian and Wang Gui against Peng You; he was taken and beheaded. Liu Zhong was killed by Wang Lin; his head was sent to court. On wushen, Shi Kangmin's Zhe west command became the Loyal Sharp Ninth. On jiyou, Zhang Jun said Wang Shu, Wang Si, and Lu Fayuan lacked weight and begged Liu Ziyu and Wu Jie as judges; no answer. On xinhai, Xu Wen rebelled and fled to puppet Qi.

Fifth month, bingchen: Zhai Cong became Henan and Meng-Ru-Zheng pacification commissioner; Dong Xian was deputy. On dingsi, Privy Council planner Ren Zhiqing was sent to soothe Xiangyang, Shang, Guo, and Henan. On jiwei, Yang Yizhong was ordered to recruit and take Yan bandits. On xinyou, the Kindred Princes Residence was built. Dong Xian became Shang-Guo-Shan pacification commissioner. Henan commoner Wang Zhongmin was summoned as Instructor Gentleman; he reached court and declined. On renxu, Pan Zhiyao returned saying the Jin wanted a high minister as envoy for trust; the eastern campaign was shelved. On yichou, defenders' private vice prefect recruits were abolished. On dingmao, Han Xiaozhou and others were made Jin front inquiry envoys. Anhua Man hit the border; Guangxi commissioner Xu Zhong sent troops against them. On wuchen, Yang Yizhong won Yan bandits Miao Luo and others, beheaded a hundred followers, and demon-bandits were quiet. On gengwu, Yue's taxes and corvée were remitted for repeated warfare. On renshen, defenders, magistrates, and assistants who missed heterodox gatherings and let revolt rise were all to be punished. Zhu Fei of Jianchang crushed Nanfeng bandits and executed chief Huang Chen. On yihai, with Jin peace talks under way, frontier troops were forbidden to raid Qi territory. On bingzi, Wang Yan retook Jin; the Jin left Jun and Fang. Han Shizhong begged to bring the main army back to Zhenjiang. On jimao, Huainan controllers were told to hold Si; the rest camped north of the river. Zhou Suiheng and Li Yuan escorted Wang Si and Lu Fayuan to Lang; Zhang Jun finally gave up the commission. On jisi, the table was cut, slaughter forbidden, labor eased, harsh levies ended, and Liang-Zhe and each circuit's surveillance commissioners were told to review prisoners in person. On xinwei, Shaoxing year 2 government-purchase silk was remitted. On guiyou, Lü Yihao and others begged out over drought; the Emperor replied: "Rather than quit, work as colleagues in harmony, mend what falls short, and seek what satisfies Heaven." Lü Yihao and the others then returned to office. On yihai, Zhu Shengfei returned from mourning. On bingzi, Quanzhou flooded and the walls were ruined. On yiyou, the Mingtang was ordered to follow Huangyou rites, jointly sacrificing the Great Heaven Emperor, the Divine Land Spirit, and lesser gods. On bingxu, Wu Jie beat the Jin and retook Feng, Qin, and Long. Where special executions did not match law and feeling, Dali might memorialize for review. A Mingtang ritual hall was built on the drill ground. On jiachen, armies were forbidden to press-gang civilians by tattoo; those already tattooed were released. Wu Jie begged a palace sinecure; it was refused. That month Mars trespassed on the Southern Dipper. Yue Fei sent Niu Gao to retake Suizhou, seized puppet Qi defender Wang Song, and dismembered him.

On bingchen, Xianren Pass rewards made Wu Jie checked Junior Mentor and Fengning-Baojing military commissioner; Wu Lin, Yang Zheng, and others were promoted by degree. On dingji, left and right headquarters were to appraise bureau officers yearly for reward and punishment. On gengshen, Qu Duan and Zhao Zhe were restored to office. On renxu, Yue Fei sent Wang Gui and Zhang Xian to beat Li Cheng and the Jin west of Deng, retake Deng, and seize Gao Zhong. On bingyin, Hou Que entered Jianchang, seized thirteen including Xiu Da, and beheaded them. The Jianzhou wax-tea tribute convoy was abolished. Jiangdong pacification was ordered to recruit fifteen hundred naval troops. On jisi, more than ten thousand lake bandits surrendered at Ding and Li. Liu Guangshi came to court. On gengwu, Wang Gui and Zhang Xian broke Jin and Qi forces, retook Tang and Xinyang army, and Xiang-Han was cleared. On xinwei, Zhang Yi and Sun Jin returned from mission; Nianhan wrote that Huainan must not hold troops.

Han Shizhong and Yang Yizhong were to divide forces and hold coastal passes. On jiachen, Huaidong sluice dykes were burned and breached. Escort armies were given cash. Wu Jie sent Yang Congyi and others to rout the Jin at Laji. On guichou, Wu Jie begged to give up his commission to redeem Liu Ziyu; Liu Ziyu was then left at liberty. The Jin entered Guang. On jiayin, puppet Qi Guang prefect Xu Yue took Shi'e Mountain stockade and held it. On yimao, Han Shizhong night-raided the Jin camp at Chengzhou and broke it. Twelfth month, yihai new moon: Wei Liangchen and Wang Hui returned from Sizhou to audience. On wuyin, metropolitan right-army controller Li Gui was posted at Fushan.
