Shaoxing 8, spring, wuzi new moon: Gaozong held court at Jiankang. On bingshen, Lin'an's summer-tax commuted payments were cut. On wuxu, Zhang Shou left office. On xinchou, puppet Qi's Shou intendant Song Chao brought troops and people over. Cai controller Bai Anshi killed the Jin general Wulu, took defender Liu Yongshou, and surrendered. With peace under discussion, coastal prefectures were forbidden to send men across the Huai to recruit. On dingwei, Zhang Jun's army was mustered in grand review. On wushen, Military Affairs Vice Minister Hu Shijiang became Sichuan pacification and disposition grand commissioner. Second month, wuwu: Liu Qi was received. Jiankang's summer commuted tax was cut; rent arrears, harmonized purchase, and levies were forgiven. On gengshen, a black spot appeared on the sun. Lü Yihao became Jiangdong pacification grand commissioner and mobile-palace keeper. On renxu, Yue Fei asked for more troops and was refused. On guihai, the court left Jiankang. On bingyin, Hu Anguo's Spring and Autumn commentary was finished; he was made Direct Baowen Pavilion Academician. On wuyin, the court reached Lin'an. On jimao, Zhang Yi became Jiangdong pacification grand commissioner and palace keeper; Lü Yihao became Liquan Abbey commissioner. On jiashen, Shaoxing's harmonized-purchase silk levy was cut by ten thousand bolts.

Third month, jichou: Southern Outer Clan director Zhongruai succeeded as Prince of Pu. On gengyin, Liu Dazhong of Rites became Vice Grand Councilor; Wang Shu of Military Affairs became Privy Council Vice Director. On renchen, Qin Hui was restored as Right Vice Director, co-equal councillor, and concurrent Military Affairs controller. On jiawu, Chen Yuyi left office. On wuxu, Kuizhou route gained a circuit controller; passes were mended and righteous militia drilled. On jihai, farm-tool and ox taxes were forgiven. Li Tianzuo became Jinghai military commissioner and King of Jiaozhi. On renyin, former chief minister Han Zhongyan was fixed to share sacrifice in Huizong's temple. On dingwei, tax arrears in every prefecture and county the court passed through were forgiven. On wushen, Jiangxi and Hunan monthly pile levies of ten thousand strings each were cut. On jiyou, Chuan-Shaan expedient appointments were to be audited; the worst excesses were to be cut.

Fourth month, gengshen: the Revenue Ministry's grain-purchase office was first opened at Lin'an. On renxu, Wang Shu was sent to inspect the Jiang and Huai frontier. On dingchou, the six-route transport commission was restored. On guiwei, the three palace armies were told to rotate night watch inside the palace.

Fifth month, gengxu: Zhenjiang was told to recruit one thousand Cross-River troops. Inner attendant Luo Dan was exiled to a sea island. On gengzi, abandoning infants was forbidden; the destitute who could not rear a child were given support money. On renyin, Liu Ziyu was demoted to Dan militia training vice commissioner and sent to Zhangzhou. On dingwei, Jin envoys Wulinsi Mou and Shi Qingchong arrived with Wang Lun and others. On wushen, Ye Mengde became Jiangdong pacification and disposition grand commissioner. On jiyou, Wang Shu reached Huainan, posted Zhang Zongyan with seven thousand at Luzhou, Ju Shigu with three thousand at Taiping, and split Han Shizhong's men between Sizhou and Tianchang.

Sixth month, renxu: Duke of Yan Kong Zhi was given five qing at Quzhou for the sage's shrine. On guihai, Zhao Ding presented the Revised Veritable Records of Zhezong. On renshen, three hundred ninety-five men from Huang Gongdu downward received passage and origin. Wang Shu came back from Huainan and was received. On yihai, Zhang Zongyan became Luzhou intendant; Liu Qi was told to march his troops to Zhenjiang. On dingchou, Wulinsi Mou and Shi Qingchong were received.

Seventh month, yiyou new moon: Wang Lun and Lan Gongzuo were again sent to welcome the coffin. Sima Guang's great-grandson Ji was given Assistant Gentleman for Meritorious Achievement. On xinhai, a comet rose in the east.

Eighth month, wuwu: an edict said: "We lately sent envoys to our neighbor, expecting the coffin home. We still fear the frontier has not heard us and has rushed to arms, sowing doubt in every heart. Each of you must tighten your cities, tell your commands plainly, stay wary in the field, and do not forget defense." On jiazi, Jiangdong's monthly pile levy of more than thirteen thousand strings was cut. On dingchou, the comet died. Investigating censor Li Can was sent to Jiangxi to announce policy and settle bandits.

Tenth month, dingsi: Liu Dazhong left office. On jiaxu, Zhao Ding left office. On yihai, a black spot appeared on the sun. On dingchou, Jin envoys Zhang Tonggu and Xiao Zhe arrived with Wang Lun. Han Shizhong asked to report at court and was refused. Privy Council Vice Director Wang Shu refused to sign the peace papers, memorializing again and again to quit; the throne would not let him go.

Eleventh month, jiashen: Hanlin Academician-in-Chief Sun Jin became Vice Grand Councilor. On bingxu, Grand Court clerks Xue Chun and Zhu Fei were sent to Guangnan to clear stalled cases. On wuxu, Wang Lun was received. On jihai, Wang Lun was again made credentialed planning commissioner with Su Fu as deputy; Fu declined for illness. On gengzi, Sun Jin was additionally made acting co-controller of the Privy Council. [i] On xinchou, an edict said: "Jin envoys have entered our borders seeking Our humiliation for peace; attendants and remonstrance officers are to think hard and lay out their views." Attendants Zhang Can, Yan Dunfu, Wei Hong, Zeng Kai, Li Miyuan, Yin Chun, Liang Rujia, Lou Zhao, Su Fu, Xue Huiyan, and censor Fang Tingshi all said no. On jiachen, Wang Shu left office. On xinhai, Privy Council reviser Hu Quan bluntly attacked the peace in memorial; he was struck from the rolls and sent to Zhaozhou. On renzi. His post was changed to superintendent of Guangzhou's capital salt depot. Twelfth month, jiayin: Zhao Ding became Liquan Abbey commissioner. On yimao, Imperial Clan Vice Director Feng Ji became deputy credentialed planning commissioner. On jiwei, Personnel Minister Li Guang became Vice Grand Councilor. On wuchen, Wang Lun said the Jin envoy spoke of "imperial instruction to pacify Jiangnan," and the title was wrong. Qin Hui, not yet having seen the state letter, feared it was a patent of enfeoffment. The Emperor said: "We guard the ancestral foundation—We will not take a Jin patent of enfeoffment." On guiyou, academy officers Hu Cheng, Zhu Song, Zhang Kuo, Ling Jingxia, Chang Ming, and Fan Rugui memorialized that peace must not be made. On jiaxu, Bright Hall Academician Han Xiaozhou was made signing Privy Council affairs. On yihai, Xiaozhou and others were made credentialed memorial and thanks envoys to the Jin. On bingzi, Zhang Tonggu and Xiao Zhe reached court and said Henan would come back first, the rest later. Investigating censor Shi Tingchen became attendant censor; acting Personnel Minister Zhang Can and Vice Minister Yan Dunfu refused the appointment, saying Tingchen had risen for favoring peace. Censor-in-Chief Gou Longruyuan, Right Remonstrance Officer Li Yi, and Palace Censor Zheng Gangzhong twice came to the council hall to debate taking the state letter. On dingchou, an edict said: "Jin envoys have come, yielding all old Henan and Shaanxi, seeking peace with Us, promising the coffin and the mother, brothers, and kin, with nothing more asked. Let the Secretariat post notice." On gengchen, the Emperor did not hold court. In mourning, auspicious rites could not be performed; Qin Hui was told to act as chief mourner, receive the letter, and present it. That month the Xuhuan barbarians struck Jia's Zhong stockade. That year the capital was first fixed at Hang.

Shaoxing 9, spring, renwu new moon: Gaozong held court at Lin'an. On bingxu, with Jin peace made, a great amnesty was proclaimed. Henan's newly recovered prefectures and armies kept their officials; rent and tax were forgiven three years, corvée five. Wang Lun was made co-signing Privy Council affairs and commissioner to escort the coffin, welcome the empress dowager, and deliver the borders. On wuzi, Imperial Clan Vice Director Shi Yi and Military Affairs Vice Minister Zhang Can were sent to Henan to tend the tombs. On gengyin, Liu Guangshi took the title Harmonizing Host; Zhang Jun rose to Junior Tutor as Pacifying People; Han Shizhong became Junior Mentor; Zhang Jun was restored Left Supporter of the Court. On xinmao, Yin Chun was made Huixian attendant and Wanshou lecturer; Chun forcefully declined. On renchen, Yue Fei and Wu Jie were both made Grand Marshal; Yang Yizhong became Grand Commandant. On guisi, the empress dowager's palace was built. On jiawu, Jin Suzhou defender Zhao Rong came over. On bingshen, the Jin ruler issued an edict Henan commanderies on ceding land back to Song. Transport control became control commission under a chief Revenue officer, with deputy or controller still set. On wuxu, Wang Lun became Eastern Capital defender with Guo Zhongqi deputy; Liang Rujia controlled Jiang-Huai-Jing-Zhe-Fujian-Guang; Huo Li was controller. On jihai, Wu Jie became Sichuan pacification commissioner.

Second month, guichou: Zhou Yu became Shaanxi credentialed commissioner; Fang Tingshi credentialed commissioner for the Three Capitals and Huai north. On dingsi, Guo Zhongqi became Grand Commandant and co-defender of the Eastern Capital. Mu Wei raided Huan prefecture. On wuwu, Guo Hao became Shaanxi pacification controller. On renxu, Li Gang became Hunan pacification grand commissioner; Zhang Jun Fuzhou intendant; soon he was restored Academician and made Fujian pacification grand commissioner. Zhou Yu and Fang Tingshi were told to seek hidden scholars. On jiazi, monthly pile levies were equalized in every prefecture and county. On jisi, Guo Hao became Shaanxi credentialed commissioner. On renshen, revision of Huizong's Veritable Records was ordered. On guiyou, bandits amnestied who rose again were to be struck and killed without pardon. That month a black spot sat on the sun for more than a month. Jiangxi controller Li Gui brought his army to Yang Yizhong.

Third month, dinghai: He defender Yu became Baoda military commissioner and Duke of Chong. On bingshen, Wang Lun took territory from the Jin: the three capitals, Shouchun, Suzhou, Bozhou, Cao, Dan, and Shaanxi and Jingxi. Wuzhu withdrew to Qi prefecture. On jihai, Henan was split into three routes and Gong prefecture was abolished. On xinchou, Hanlin Academician Lou Zhao was made signing Privy Council affairs. On jiachen, puppet Qi's Kaifeng intendant Zheng Yinian submitted a guilt memorial and was summoned to court. On dingwei, puppet Qi's renamed prefectures and counties were corrected. That spring the Xia took Fu prefecture.

Fifth month, gengyin: successive reigns' portraits from the Eastern Capital's Qinxian and Xiaosi halls were escorted to Lin'an. On xinmao, Jiang and Huai defenders were again given two-year terms. On yiwei, the Huaidong tea-and-salt intendant commission was restored. On guimao, the elder-chief recruitment law was restored. On bingwu, Yan-Yan vice general Li Shipu brought three thousand from Fengxiang over; he was named Xianzhong.

Sixth month, gengxu: Empress Xing died at the Five States Stockade. On xinhai, Xia ruler Qian Shun died. On renzi, Lou Zhao by commission made four thousand four hundred Eastern Capital troops the Loyal Sharp Three Commands. On gengshen, bandits entered Shaowu army. On renxu, with newly recovered officials uneasy, an edict reassured them. On jisi, Wu Jie died. On renshen, Lou Zhao by commission made Li Xianzhong Herald Who Guards the State and front-army controller; he led his division and Xia recruiter Wang Shu to court. On guiyou, Li military push-officer Han Hong, for attacking the peace as no strategy, was sent to Xunzhou. On yihai, Meng Geng was additionally made co-defender of the Eastern Capital. Wang Lun went from the Eastern Capital to the Jin to discuss affairs. Lou Zhao by commission made Yang Zheng Xihe commissioner and Wu Lin Qin-Feng commissioner, both still under Sichuan pacification; Guo Hao became Yan-Yan commissioner with concurrent command of Shaanxi armies. On bingzi, forty thousand pacification troops camped at Xi and Qin; six thousand went to Guo Hao; twenty thousand of Wu Jie's picked men camped at Xingyuan, Xing, and Yang. On wuyin, the paper-money bureau was set at Yongxing army. That month Fuzhou controller Wu Jun plotted to hold Taoyuan and rise again; Hubei pacification Xue Bi summoned and killed him.

Seventh month, jiashen: civil officials were made magistrates of newly recovered counties. On bingxu, two hundred Eastern Capital elders led by Li Maosong and Kou Zhang congratulated the throne, were received, given office, and sent home. Directorate of Waterways southern and northern director posts were each restored to one man. On dinghai, the Jin detained Wang Lun at Zhongshan. On bingshen, Liu Yu's puppet officials were examined and given new patents. On yisi, property seized by puppet Qi was returned to the people. Hu Shijiang was additionally made acting supervisor of Sichuan pacification.

Eighth month, jiyou: Huainan school officers were restored. On gengxu, Shaanxi armies were given winter clothing: one hundred fifty thousand bolts of silk. Former Chuan-Shaan expedient appointments were told to declare within one year and receive new patents. On bingchen, the Jin killed Tadalan, suspecting divided loyalty after he had backed peace and the land cession. On renxu, Chengdu and Tongchuan yearly paired-purchase grain of five hundred forty thousand shi and water-transport money of seven hundred ninety thousand strings were cut. On yichou, two million strings for ordination certificates and purple-robe titles went to Shaanxi western-market army stores. On jisi, Shaanxi was told again to use iron coin. On gengwu, Su Fu and others were sent to the Jin for New Year congratulations. On yihai, former Suzhou intendant Zhao Rong and former Shou intendant Wang Wei were both sent back to the Jin. Guan Shigu became Central Guard front-army controller.

Ninth month, jimao: Yan-Yan, Qin-Feng, and Xihe were told to recruit settled tribes and fallen Xia troops and people. On bingxu, the Emperor's uncle Shi Yi was enfeoffed Prince of Qi'an. On gengyin, the control commission was cut; investigating censors additionally oversaw the Ever-Normal Granary. On jiawu, the empress dowager's hall was named Cining. On bingshen, Weizhou defender Wen Ji reported Han Shizhong's secret affairs; he was stripped and sent to Jian [ii] Shizhong memorialized again asking to kill him; an edict moved him to Wan'an army. On jihai, Guo Zhongqi led five thousand Eastern Capital troops to Zhenjiang.

Twelfth month, jiayin: continuation of the Rites of Shaoxing Reforms was ordered. On jiazi, Li Guang left office. On wuchen, continuation of the Yuanfeng Administrative Compendium was ordered. Wuzhu detained Su Fu and others at the Eastern Capital and plotted to retake Henan.

Shaoxing 10, spring, bingxu: Mo Jiang and others were made commissioners to escort the coffin and welcome the Two Palaces. On xinmao, Li Gang died. On jiachen, Xianmo Direct Academician and Liquan lecturer Zheng Yinian was restored Academician with court attendance.

Second month, wushen: Shaanxi was told again to recruit Fan and Han archers. An edict said corrupt officials due death, when the case was especially grave, were to memorial for the throne's word. On xinhai, hail fell. Liu Qi became co-defender of the Eastern Capital; Li Xianzhong co-defender of the Southern Capital. On renzi, both Imperial Clan directors were told each to name two clansmen they knew. On guichou, the metropolitan examination was put off one year. On renxu, newly recovered prefectures were told to seek hidden scholars; every route was to manage garrison farms. On dingmao, the History Office was cut; the calendar went to the Secretariat; a supervisor of national history was set. Meng Geng became Kaifeng intendant and Eastern Capital defender; Qiu Yue became Henan intendant and Western Capital defender. On guiyou, Personnel's review of Xuanhe excessive rewards was cut.

Third month, jiashen: Lord Quebo was enfeoffed King Xuanming of Shangqiu. On wuzi, paper-money printing rose five million strings for the pacification commission to buy army stores. Chuan-Shaan pacification Vice Commissioner Hu Shijiang said again and again the Jin would break treaty and the court should prepare. On jichou, added tax stations on every route were cut. Han Shizhong and Zhang Jun were received. Inner instruction was first abolished. The Jiankang mobile palace was built again. On bingshen, Su Fu returned from the Eastern Capital. On dingyou, Chuan-Shaan military matters that could not wait for report were permitted expedient handling. On jihai, Guo Hao became Yongxing intendant with command of Shaanxi armies; Yang Zheng was moved to Xingyuan intendant. That month Hu Shijiang was told to negotiate Xia tribute; the Xia gave no answer.

Fourth month, bingwu: the court sought lost calendars and skilled astronomers. On xinyou, Zhang Zhongfu became Liquan Abbey commissioner and Zhongyan superintendent of Yousheng Abbey (3) , and Zhao Bin became War Minister. On guihai, each circuit envoy was to recommend one honest official yearly. On gengwu, Sichuan prefectural school officers were restored. On renshen, Han Xiaozhou left office. Fifth month, jimao: the Jin broke the treaty and Wuzhu struck in four columns. On jiashen, the Emperor's writings hall was named Fuwen. On yiyou, Wuzhu took the Eastern Capital; Meng Yu surrendered; Li Shixiong at Xingren, Li Zhengmin at Huaining, and Henan prefectures followed. On bingxu, the Jin took Gong; defender Wang Gao died. Salihu marched from mid-He to Yongxing army, and Shaanxi officials all surrendered. On dinghai, the Jin took the Southern Capital; Lu Yundi surrendered. Liu Qi marched to Shunchang. On jichou, the Jin took the Western Capital; Li Liyong and deputy overall commander Sun Hui fled; controller Li Xing fought and failed. On xinmao, Hu Shijiang sent Jingyuan commissioner Tian Sheng from Hechi with three thousand to meet the Jin. Jing-Hu loyalist commander Li Bao beat the Jin on Xingren's border. On guisi, Bozhou prefect Wang Yanxian rebelled and went over to the Jin. The Jin took Yongxing army and pressed Fengxiang. On dingyou, Hu Shijiang was told to pull the Right Guard Army of western Shaanxi back to Shukou. With bandits in Fujian and Guangdong, both circuits' commissioners were told to cross borders and suppress them together. On jihai, Liu Guangshi became pacification commissioner of the three capitals to aid Liu Qi. On gengzi, Wu Lin co-controlled Shaanxi forces; Hu Shijiang could dismiss, appoint, and dispose of troops at need. On xinchou, the Jin hit Shifeng stockade in Fengxiang; Wu Lin sent Yao Zhong and others and drove them off. The Jin besieged Yao; Guo Hao relieved it and they withdrew. On renyin, the Jin besieged Shunchang; Prince Ge Wangbao brought a great army; Liu Qi fought hard and broke them.

Sixth month, jiachen new moon: Han Shizhong became Grand Guardian, Zhang Jun Junior Mentor, and Yue Fei Junior Guardian; all were also Henan north-and-south-route pacification commissioners. On yisi, Liu Qi sent general Yan Chong (4) to beat the Jin at Licun near Shunchang. On bingwu, Liang-Zhe, Jiangdong, and Fujian were told to muster crossbowmen. Qiu Yue became coastal control commissioner. An edict promised commissioner and military commissioner patents and field pay to officers and soldiers who won extraordinary merit. On dingwei, Jiankang mobile-court construction was halted. On wushen, Liu Qi became Huai-river coast control commissioner (5) On jiyou, Wu Lin sent Li Shiyan and others to beat the Jin at Fufeng and recover the city. On renzi, Wuzhu with defectors Kong Yanzhao, Li Qiong, Zhao Rong, and more than one hundred thousand struck Shunchang; Liu Qi and his men fought to the death and routed them. Earlier Qin Hui had told Qi to withdraw when advantage allowed; Qi disobeyed, fought harder, and with few overcame many. On yimao, Shunchang was relieved and Wuzhu withdrew. Pingjiang prefect Liang Rujia was also made Zhexi coastal control commissioner. On bingchen, Yue Fei's Niu Gao fought the Jin in Jingxi and won. On jiwei, Liu Guangshi advanced to He. Guo Hao sent Zheng Jianchong to break the Jin at Li and recover the city. On renxu, every office was told to send all money beyond operating costs to the army. Lou Zhao left office for his father's mourning. On jiazi, Salihu attacked Qingxi Ridge; Wang Yan of Yan-Yan beat him back and Salihu returned to Fengxiang. Shi Yi was told to preside at the Prince of Pu's temple. Zhang Jun sent Wang De to aid Liu Qi; De reached Shunchang briefly, found the siege lifted, and returned to Luzhou. Agriculture Vice Minister Li Ruoxu was sent to Yue Fei to order withdrawal; Fei refused. On bingyin, an edict comforted Shunchang officials, soldiers, and people. On gengwu, Liu Qi took Wutai army and became vice commander of the Palace Horse Army. Han Shizhong sent Wang Sheng and Back-the-Mountain general Cheng Min south of Huaiyang, met the Jin, and beat them. That month the Jin besieged Qingyang; acting defender Song Wannian held and they could not take it. Yue Fei aided Liu Qi, fought the Jin at Cai, won, and recovered Cai.

Intercalary month, guiyou new moon: Zhang Jun's Song Chao beat the Jin at Zhujia village in Yongcheng. On jiaxu, Meng Yu and Lu Yundi were stripped of office and their families sent to distant prefectures. On bingzi, three palace guard commanders and observation commissioners and above were each to recommend two able generals. The Jin hit Jing; Qu Ji abandoned the city; Tian Sheng relieved it and they fled. On jiashen, Tian Sheng again beat the Jin at Jing and they withdrew toward Fengxiang. On yiyou, Shaanxi capital crimes below death were eased and exiles and below were freed. On bingxu, Hu Shijiang became Manifest Brightness Hall academician; Wu Lin took Zhenxi; Yang Zheng Wudang; Guo Hao Fengguo. Wang De struck Suzhou at night, broke the Jin, and defender Ma Qin surrendered. On dinghai, Shunchang prisoners below exile were freed, taxes remitted two more years, and defenders advanced one rank. On jichou, Yongxing controller Fu Zhongxin and others beat the Jin at Huayin. On renchen, Yue Fei's Zhang Xian struck Han Chang at Yingchang, won, and recovered the city. On bingshen, Zhang Xian recovered Huaining. On dingyou, Zhao Ding became a division official at Xinghua army. Yue Fei's Hao Zheng fought the Jin north of Zheng, won, and recovered Zheng. Li Xing recovered Ru, beat the Jin at Heqing, took back eight counties including Yiyang, and Li Cheng fled. Han Shizhong sent Wang Sheng and Wang Quan to take Haizhou and seized defender Wang Shan. On wuxu, Zhang Jun led controllers Song Chao (6) and others; Wang De joined at Chengfu; Li Qiong and Prince Ge Wangbao fled, and Bozhou was recovered. On jihai, the Jin relieved Haizhou; Wang Quan met them, won, and Huairen was recovered. On gengzi, Zhang Jun abandoned Bozhou and fell back to Shouchun. Zhao Ding was demoted again to Zhangzhou, then to Qingyuan deputy military commissioner at Chaozhou.

Seventh month, guimao: Yue Fei sent Zhang Ying and Han Qing into the Western Capital; with Li Xing they recovered Yong'an army. On bingwu, Investigating Censor-in-Chief Wang Ciweng became Vice Grand Councilor. On jiyou, Yue Fei fought Wuzhu at Yancheng and won. On gengxu, Haizhou received a partial amnesty. Yongxing commander Xin Zhen fought the Jin below Chang'an and won. On guichou, Yang Yizhong became Huai north pacification vice commissioner with Liu Qi as judge. On yihai, Han Shizhong besieged Huaiyang but could not take it. On gengchen, the Jin and Li Qiong camped at Qianqiu Lake; Han Shizhong's Liu Bao raided at night and broke them. On renwu, Li Cheng attacked the Western Capital; Li Xing drove him back. Yang Yizhong camped at Suzhou. On bingxu, Guo Hao became prefect of Kui. On dinghai, Yang Yizhong raided Liuzi from Suzhou at night, his army collapsed, he crossed the Huai from Shouchun, and the Jin slaughtered Suzhou. On jiawu, Sichuan-Shaanxi commander Wang Xi and others met the Jin at Qianyang and won.

Ninth month, renyin new moon: Attendant Gentleman Li Yi was sent to tell Han Shizhong to stop fighting. Qin Hui then monopolized peace and the great commanders all returned to their posts. On dingwei, Yang Zheng's Yang Congyi raided the Jin at Fengxiang by night and won. On wushen, the Jin re-entered the Western Capital; Li Xing abandoned the city. On gengxu, Heaven and Earth were sacrificed at the Bright Hall and there was a general amnesty. On xinyou, Lin'an burned. On wuchen, Guo Hao took Jin, controlled Shaanxi and Hedong forces, and arranged Hedong loyalists. That autumn Dai prefect Wang Zhongzhi raised troops and recovered eleven prefectures including Shi and Dai.

On wuyin, Qin Hui presented the Revised Shaoxing Capital General Statutes and Regulations. On gengchen, the Jin attacked Qingyang; Song Wannian surrendered the city. On xinmao, the Jin hit Shan; Wu Qi met them and won. On gengzi, the Jin raided Tao and hit Tiecheng; Kong Wenqing and Hui Feng beat them back. That month Liu Qi was received at court. Hu Shijiang sent Wang Zhongzhi to relieve Qingyang; rebel Zhao Weiqing seized him for the Jin; Zhongzhi would not submit and died.

Twelfth month, renwu: the Empress Dowager's seals and regalia were presented at Cining Hall. On dinghai, Wang Zhongzhi was posthumously made Fengguo commissioner with the posthumous title Yijie. On xinmao, elders' corvée money on every route went to the overall control office for the army alone. That month Yang Yizhong brought his troops back to court.

That month Qian and Ji bandits were all pacified.

On jiachen, Zhang Jun, Yang Yizhong, and Liu Qi agreed to withdraw. On yisi, Yizhong and Qi went first; Jun kept light troops behind. On bingwu, Huai west capital prisoners below death were released. On dingwei, the Jin took Haozhou, seized Wang Jin, leveled the city, and Shao Qing died fighting. On wushen, Zhang Jun sent Yang Yizhong and Wang De into Haozhou, met an ambush, and fell back beaten. On jiyou, Han Shizhong reached Haozhou, found no advantage, and withdrew. On xinhai, Yue Fei halted at Dingyuan; hearing the Jin had withdrawn, he returned to Shu. Yang Yizhong returned to court. On renzi, the Jin crossed north of the Huai and withdrew. On guichou, Zhang Jun returned to Jiankang (12) On dingsi, Liu Qi returned to Taiping. On guimao, stipends were paid to officers and soldiers killed in battle. On dingwei, Zhang Jun and Yue Fei were sent to Chuzhou to inspect the frontier. Liu Guangshi was summoned to court. On jiayin, the Privy Council field office was posted at Zhenjiang and told to tour the lines and set things in order. On gengshen, Yang Yizhong was made acting Junior Guardian with palace-gate honors equal to the Three Masters.

Great Imperial Clan intendant Shi Yi and associate director Shi Zun were dismissed; visits by in-laws and clansmen were tightened. On jiyou, thunder. On renzi, Xiao Yi and others were received; the peace covenant was first fixed. On yimao, He Zhu became Privy Council signatory and was sent to the Jin to give thanks and deliver the covenant memorial. On gengshen, chief ministers and covenant drafters were told to announce the pact to Heaven, Earth, the ancestral temple, and the altars. On xinyou, Zhang Jun was made acting Junior Mentor, Chongxin commissioner, and Wanshou Palace attendant. That month peace with the Jin was sealed: border at mid-Huai, Tang and Deng given up, 250,000 taels silver and 250,000 bolts silk yearly, arms stilled and people rested, each realm holding its ground. The Sichuan-Shaanxi pacification office was barred from raiding or sheltering deserters. Luo Ke's remnant Ou Huan and others rose at Guiyang and Lanshan and hit Pingyang; Jiangxi troop supervisor Cheng Shihui was sent to crush them. Twelfth month, dingmao: Huayou attendant Liu Hongdao was demoted to Haozhou training deputy and exiled to Liu. On guiyou, the Masters of Writing was to register and review stalled cases on every circuit. On jiaxu, the Sichuan-Shaanxi pacification office lost discretionary powers. On yihai, Wuzhu sent He Zhu and others to Huining to see the Jin ruler and demand the rest of Shaanxi. Zhou Yu, Mo Jiang, and Zheng Gangzhong were told to mark the Jingxi Tang-Deng and Shaanxi borders. On renwu, prefectures and counties were ordered every three years to compile property registers [15] , listing wealth, fields, and houses to set tax and corvée, with bribes and hiding old quotas forbidden. On dinghai, rules for inspecting seagoing ships were enacted. On guisi, Yue Fei was granted death in Dali prison; his son Yun and Zhang Xian were beheaded in the market; the family was sent to Guangnan; staff such as Yu Peng were punished by rank.
