元豐元年，始命太常寺置局，以樞密直學士陳襄等為詳定官，太常博士楊完等為檢討官。 In the first year of Yuanfeng (1078), the Court of Imperial Sacrifices was first ordered to establish a bureau, with Hanlin academician of the Bureau of Military Affairs Chen Xiang and others as detailed determination officers and Court of Imperial Sacrifices doctors Yang Wan and others as collation officers.

襄等言：「國朝大率皆循唐故，至於壇壝神位、法駕輿輦、仗衛儀物，亦兼用歷代之制。 Chen Xiang and others said: 'Our dynasty for the most part follows Tang precedents; as for altar enclosures, spirit positions, imperial carriages and palanquins, and guard regalia and ceremonial objects, we also draw upon institutions of successive ages.
