上授溫福定邊將軍，豐升額、阿桂俱授副將軍，分道取美諾。 Wenfu was made Pacification General of the Border, with Fengsheng'e and A Gui as his deputies, each marching by a different route to take Meinuo.

豐升額由綽斯甲布徑攻勒烏圍。 Fengsheng'e took the Choosjab route straight against Lewuwei.

事聞，上怒甚，命發健銳、火器兩營，黑龍江、吉林、伊犁額魯特兵五千，授阿桂定西將軍，明亮、豐升額副將軍，舒常參贊大臣，整師再出。 When the emperor learned of this, he was furious. He sent the Jianrui and Firearms camps and five thousand Oirat troops from Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Yili, made A Gui Pacification General of the West with Mingliang and Fengsheng'e as deputies and Shuchang as assisting commander, and ordered the army out again under a fresh command.

時豐升額出北路，師至凱立葉，望見煙火，以師來會； Meanwhile Fengsheng'e was moving along the northern route; when his column reached Kailiye and saw the beacon fires, he brought his army to join them.

十二月，授定邊將軍，以阿桂、豐升額副之。 In the twelfth month he was appointed Pacification General with Agui and Fengsheng'e as deputies.

於是溫福自功噶爾拉入，阿桂自當噶爾拉入，豐升額自綽斯甲布入。 Thereupon Wen Fu entered by Gongga'er La, Agui by Dangga'er La, and Fengsheng'e by Zhuosijia.

上命豐升額及額駙色布騰巴勒珠爾按治。 The emperor ordered Fengsheng'e and imperial son-in-law Sebuteng Balzhu'er to investigate the matter.

乾隆三十八年，大軍徵金川，命為領隊大臣，從參贊大臣豐升額，力戰輒先登，克堅碉數十，功最。 In Qianlong 38, during the great campaign against Jinchuan, he was made lead commander under Participating Commander Feng Sheng'e. In hard fighting he repeatedly led the assault, took dozens of fortified blockhouses, and earned the highest distinction.
