康思立，晉陽人也。 Kang Sili was a native of Jinyang.

〈（《通鑒》：潞王至靈寶，思立謀固守陝城以俟康義誠。 (From the Comprehensive Mirror: When Prince Lu reached Lingbao, Sili planned to hold Shaan city and await Kang Yicheng.

於是捧聖卒爭出迎，思立不能禁，不得已，亦出迎。）〉 Then the Pingsheng troops rushed out to welcome them. Sili could not stop them and, with no choice left, went out to welcome them as well.)〉

思立本出陰山諸部，性純厚，善撫將士，明宗素重之，故即位之始，以應州所生之地授焉。 Sili was originally from the Yinshan tribes. Pure and generous by nature, he was skilled at winning over officers and soldiers. Mingzong had long valued him, and at the start of his reign granted him his birthplace in Ying Prefecture.

及出幸懷州，以北師不利，乃命思立統駕下騎軍赴團柏穀以益軍勢，俄而楊光遠以大軍降於太原，思立因憤激，疾作而卒焉。 When the emperor visited Huaizhou and the northern army fared poorly, he ordered Sili to lead the cavalry of the imperial escort to Tuanbai Valley to reinforce the army. Soon Yang Guangyuan surrendered his great army at Taiyuan; stirred to fury, Sili fell ill and died.
