是歲八月，莊宗遣閻寶、史建瑭及趙將符習等率王鎔本軍進討。 In the eighth month Zhuangzong sent Yan Bao, Shi Jiantan, and the Zhao general Fu Xi with Wang Rong's former army to suppress him.

師興，文禮病疽腹，及聞史建瑭攻下趙州，驚悸而卒。 As the campaign opened Wenli lay ill with an abdominal abscess; when he heard that Shi Jiantan had taken Zhaozhou he died of shock.
