王始不從，乃使子胥於齊，聞其託子於鮑氏，王乃大怒，曰：「伍員果欺寡人！」 The king at first did not follow this advice, and later sent Zixu to Qi. When he heard that Zixu had entrusted his son to the Bao clan, the king became furious and said: “Wu Yuan has indeed deceived me!”

子胥臨行，謂其子曰：「吾數諫王，王不用，吾今見吳之亡矣。 Wu Zixu, about to depart, told his son: 'I have repeatedly remonstrated with the king, but the king did not use my advice. I now see Wu's perishing.

乃屬其子於齊鮑牧，而還報吳。 He then entrusted his son to Bao Mu of Qi and returned to report to Wu.

且嚭使人微伺之，其使於齊也，乃屬其子於齊之鮑氏。 Moreover, Pi made people secretly spy on him. When he was envoy to Qi, he entrusted his son to the Bao clan of Qi.
