禎明中，與蕭瓛、蕭巖率红叛隋歸朝，後主擢為太子詹事。 In the Zhenming era he and Xiao Kan and Xiao Yan led their men in defecting from Sui back to Chen; the Last Emperor made him grand mentor of the heir apparent.

禎明元年，蕭琮尚書左僕射安平王蕭巖、晉熙王蕭瓛等，[3]率其部眾男女二萬餘口，詣慧紀請降，慧紀以兵迎之。 In the first year of Zhenming, Xiao Yan, prince of Anping and left vice director of the masters of writing under Xiao Cong, Xiao Huan, prince of Jinxi, and others[3] led more than twenty thousand followers, men and women together, to offer surrender to Huiji, who marched out with troops to receive them.

陳主既擒，而蕭瓛、蕭岩據東吳之地，擁兵拒守。 After the Chen ruler had been captured, Xiao Kan and Xiao Yan still held eastern Wu, gathering troops to resist the invaders.

金陵之寇，既已清蕩，而吳會之地，東路為遙，蕭岩、蕭瓛，並在其處。 The enemy at Jinling has already been swept away, but Wu and Kuai lie far to the east, and both Xiao Yan and Xiao Kan are there.

陳永新侯陳君范自晉陵奔瓛，並軍合勢。 Chen Junfan, Marquis of Yongxin, fled from Jinling to join Kan, and their armies united their forces.

見述軍且至，瓛懼，立柵于晉陵城東，又絕塘道，留兵拒述。 Seeing that Shu's army was approaching, Kan grew afraid. He built palisades east of Jinling, cut off the canal road, and left troops to resist Shu.

瓛自義興入太湖，圖掩述後。 Kan himself entered Lake Tai from Yixing, intending to strike at Shu's rear.

述進破其柵，回兵擊瓛，大敗之，斬瓛司馬曹勒叉。 Shu advanced, broke through the palisades, turned his army to strike Kan, and inflicted a crushing defeat, beheading Kan's marshal Cao Lecha.

前軍複陷吳州，瓛以餘眾保包山，燕榮擊破之。 The vanguard again captured Wuzhou. Kan held Baoshan with his remaining troops, but Yan Rong attacked and defeated him.

蕭巋子琮琮弟瓛 Xiao Kui; His Son Cong; Cong's Brother Huan

軍至鄀州，琮叔父岩及弟瓛等懼弘度掩襲之，遂引陳人至城下，虜居民而叛，於是廢梁國。 When the army reached E prefecture, Cong's uncle Yan and his brother Huan, fearing a surprise attack, brought Chen troops to the walls, seized the inhabitants, and rebelled. The state of Liang was abolished.

瓛字欽文，少聰敏，解屬文。 Huan, styled Qinwen, was clever from youth and skilled in literary composition.

崔弘度以兵至鄀州，瓛懼，與其叔父岩奔于陳。 When Cui Hongdu brought troops to Ruo prefecture, Huan fled to Chen with his uncle Yan.

陳主以為侍中、安東將軍、吳州刺史，甚得物情，三吳父老皆曰：「瓛吾君子也。」 The Chen ruler made him attendant-in-ordinary, General Who Pacifies the East, and governor of Wu prefecture. He won great favor, and the elders of the Three Wu said, "Huan is our true gentleman."

及陳亡，吳人推瓛為主。 When Chen fell, the people of Wu urged Huan to lead them.

吳人見梁武、簡文及詧、巋等兄弟並第三而踐尊位，瓛自以巋之第三子也，深自矜負。 The people of Wu noted that Emperor Wu of Liang, Emperor Jianwen, and the brothers Cha and Kui had all been third sons yet reached the throne. Huan, as Kui's third son, took great pride in this.

及陳主被擒，異奔於瓛，由是益為眾所歸。 When the Chen ruler was captured, Yi fled to Huan, and Huan gained still more support.

褒國公宇文述以兵討之，瓛遣王哀守吳州，自將拒述。 Duke of Baoguo Yuwen Shu came with troops to suppress him. Huan sent Wang Ai to hold Wu prefecture and personally led the army against Shu.

瓛眾聞之，悉無鬥志，與述一戰而敗。 When Huan's troops heard of this, they lost all fighting spirit. After one battle with Shu they were defeated.

瓛將左右數人逃於太湖，匿於民家，為人所執，送於述所，斬之長安，時年二十一。 Huan fled to Lake Tai with a few attendants and hid in a commoner's house. He was seized, sent to Shu, and beheaded in Chang'an at the age of twenty-one.
