慧景遣其子覺來拒，懿奔擊，大破之，覺單騎走。 Huijing sent his son Jue to block him; Yi charged headlong and routed the force completely, and Jue fled alone on horseback.

乘勝而進，慧景衆潰，追斬之。 Pressing his advantage, Yi drove on until Huijing's army broke; Huijing was pursued and beheaded.

慧景將渡江，寶玄密與相應，殺司馬孔矜、典籤呂承緒及平、林夫，開門納慧景。 When Huijing was about to cross the Yangzi, Bao Xuan secretly colluded with him, killed Chief Administrator Kong Jin, registrar Lu Chengxu, and also Qi Ping and Huang Linfu, and opened the gates to admit Huijing's forces.

使長史沈佚之、諮議柳憕分部軍衆，乘八掆輿，手執絳麾幡，隨慧景至京師，住東城，百姓多往投集。 He sent Chief Administrator Shen Yizhi and Adviser Liu Kui to deploy the troops. Riding an eight-pole palanquin and holding a crimson command banner, he followed Huijing to the capital, took up quarters in the Eastern City, and crowds of townspeople flocked to join him.

慧景敗，收得朝野投寶玄及慧景軍名，帝令燒之，曰：「江夏尚爾，豈復可罪餘人。」 After Huijing's defeat, lists were seized of courtiers and commoners who had joined Bao Xuan and Huijing's army. The emperor ordered them burned, saying, "If even Jiangxia went so far, how can I punish anyone else?"
