尋以正樽已被鄉勇毆斃,奏下繼任總督林則徐確查虛實,則徐疏言鄉勇毆斃三賊,有正樽在內,以衣物為證,詔斥衣物出於事後呈驗,不足信,褫訥爾經額職,予三等侍衛,充駐藏辦事大臣。 Soon word came that local militia had beaten Zhengzun to death; the report was sent to his successor Lin Zexu for verification; Lin wrote that militia had killed three rebels, Zhengzun among them, citing clothing as evidence; the court rejected this, saying the clothing had been produced only afterward and was not credible; Ne'erjing'e was dismissed, given third-class bodyguard rank, and appointed commissioner in Tibet.
