高祖伐司馬休之及魯宗之，恩與建威將軍徐逵之前進。 When the Founding Emperor attacked Sima Xiuzhi and Lu Zongzhi, En advanced with General Who Establishes Might Xu Dazhi.

高祖討司馬休之，前軍將軍道憐留鎮東府，領屯兵。 When the Founding Emperor marched against Sima Xiuzhi, Vanguard Army General Daolian remained to guard the Eastern Palace and command the garrison troops.

討司馬休之，又有戰功。 In the campaign against Sima Xiuzhi he again distinguished himself.

追論討司馬休之功，進爵為子，增邑三百戶。 His service against Sima Xiuzhi was reviewed posthumously; his rank was raised to viscount and his fief increased by three hundred households.

自義熙十一年司馬休之外奔，至于元嘉末，三十有九載，兵車勿用，民不外勞，役寬務簡，氓庶繁息，至餘糧栖畝，戶不夜扃，蓋東西之極盛也。 From the eleventh year of Yixi, when Sima Xiuzhi fled abroad, to the end of Yuanjia—thirty-nine years—chariots and weapons were not used and the people were not worn by external labor. Corvée was light and affairs simple, and the common folk multiplied. Grain lay surplus in the fields and households did not bar their doors at night—this was the utmost flourishing of east and west.
