時世隆、度律、彥伯共執朝政，天光據關右，兆據幷州，仲遠據東郡，各擁兵為暴，天下苦之。 Erzhu Shilong, Dulü, and Yanbo held the court; Tianguang held the west, Zhao held Bing Province, and Zhongyuan held Dong Commandery—each tyrannized with armed force, and all under heaven groaned.

閏三月，尒朱天光自長安、兆自幷州、度律自洛陽、仲遠自東郡同會鄴，衆號二十萬，挾洹水而軍，節閔以長孫承業為大行臺總督焉。 In the intercalary third month Erzhu Tianguang marched from Chang'an, Zhao from Bing Province, Dulü from Luoyang, and Zhongyuan from Dong Commandery to meet at Ye with a force said to number two hundred thousand. They camped along the Huan River while Emperor Jiemin put Changsun Chengye in overall command as Grand Chief of the Eastern Headquarters.

四月，斛斯椿執天光、度律送洛陽。 In the fourth month Husi Chun seized Tianguang and Dulü and sent them to Luoyang.

神武深以為然，乃歸天光、度律於京師，斬之。 Gao Huan took this to heart and sent Tianguang and Dulü back to the capital to be executed.

遂奔尒朱榮，以為別將，隸天光征關中，以功為渭州刺史。 He then fled to Erzhu Rong, who made him a separate commander; he was attached to Tian Guang's campaign into Guanzhong and, for merit, was made inspector of Wei Province.

高祖舉義，尒朱天光率關右之衆與仲遠等北抗義師。 When Gao Huan raised the righteous rising, Erzhu Tianguang led the forces of Guanxi and, with Erzhu Zhongyuan and others, resisted the righteous army in the north.

天光留祚東秦，總督三州，鎮靜二州。 Tianguang left Zuo in Eastern Qin with overall command of three provinces and charge of pacifying two.

天光敗，歸高祖，除車騎大將軍。 When Tianguang was defeated, Zuo submitted to Gao Huan and was made grand general of chariots and cavalry.

子粲仕郡功曹史，累遷為大行臺郎中，從尒朱天光平關右。 Zican served as the commandery merit clerk and rose in succession to gentleman of the great mobile headquarters, following Erzhu Tianguang in pacifying Guanxi.
