十二月辛未，以知北院樞密使事耶律宜新為中京留守，南院宣徽使耶律撒剌為南院大王。 On xinwei day of the twelfth month Yelü Yixin, who administered Northern Court privy affairs, was made regent of the Central Capital; Southern Court palace commissioner Yelü Sala was made Southern Court great king.

乃與同知北院宣徽事蕭特裏特謀構陷太子，陰令右護衛太保耶律查剌誣告都宮使耶律撒剌、知院蕭速撒、護衛蕭忽古謀廢立。 He and Associate Commissioner of the Northern Bureau of Palace Attendants Xiao Telite then plotted to frame the crown prince, secretly ordering Right Guard Commissioner Yelü Chala to accuse Palace Director Yelü Sala, Commissioner Xiao Susa, and guard Xiao Hugu of plotting a coup.

蕭巖壽耶律撒剌蕭速撒耶律撻不也蕭撻不也蕭忽古耶律石柳 Xiao Yanshou, Yelu Sala, Xiao Susa, Yelu Tabuye, Xiao Tabuye, Xiao Hugu, and Yelu Shiliu

耶律撒剌，字堇隱，南院大王磨魯古之孫。 Yelu Sala, whose style was Jinyin, was a grandson of the Southern Chancellery King Molugu.

撒剌獨奏曰：「蕭巖壽言乙辛有罪，不可為樞臣，故陛下出之； Sala alone memorialized, "Xiao Yanshou showed Yixin guilty of crimes unfit for a bureau chief, and Your Majesty sent him away;

乙辛復為樞密使，見撒剌，讓曰：「與君無憾，何獨異議？」 When Yixin returned as commissioner he confronted Sala: "I bear you no personal grudge—why stand alone in opposition?"

撒剌曰：「此社稷計，何憾之有！」 Sala replied, "This concerns the fate of the state, not private resentment!"

乙辛誣撒剌與速撒同謀廢立，詔按無跡，出為始平軍節度使。 Yixin accused Sala and Susa of plotting deposition; though the inquiry found nothing, Sala was posted as military commissioner of Shiping.

使道宗能從巖壽、撒剌之諫，後何得而誣，太子何得而廢哉？ Had Emperor Daozong heeded Yanshou and Sala, how could those frame-ups have followed, or the crown prince been deposed?

北面官屬無敢言者，耶律撒剌曰：「初以蕭巖壽奏出乙辛，若所言不當，宜坐以罪，若當，則不可復召。」 None of the Northern Court officials dared speak up until Yelü Sala said, "Yixin was removed on Xiao Yanshou's memorial. If that memorial was wrong, Yanshou should be punished; if it was right, Yixin must not be brought back."

乙辛因蕭十三之言，夜召蕭得裏特謀構太子，令護衛太保耶律查剌誣告耶律撒剌等同謀立皇太子。 Acting on Xiao Shisan's counsel, Yixin summoned Xiao Delite by night to plot against the crown prince and had Guards Commissioner Yelü Chala accuse Yelü Sala and others of conspiring to put the prince on the throne.
