武宗立,命為江浙行省平章政事,邦寧辭曰:「臣以閹腐餘命,無望更生,先朝幸赦而用之,使得承乏中涓,高爵厚祿,榮寵過甚。 When Wuzong took the throne, he was appointed pingzhang political commissioner of the Jiang-Zhe Branch Secretariat. Bangning declined, saying, "I am only a castrated man spared from death; I have no hope of a new life. The previous emperor mercifully pardoned and employed me, letting me fill a post among the palace attendants — rank, salary, and honors already far beyond my deserts.
